Help Modding

1. Where is the ZeroEditor program? (the one that would let me extract models for editing) I can't find it anywhere.

2. Can mods be made or used for the PS2 version of the game?

Edit: I can only find ZeroEditor in massive packages, too big for me to download. (I have 33k internet) is there a place where I can d/l it by itself?

Zeroeditor is all zipped together with the modtools. You could get the program by itself, but it'd be useless without all the objects that come included in the zip.

Sorry bout PS2, but no mods there. I recall someone in some thread or another saying that they found a way to transfer mods to Xbox, but i'm not sure if they succeeded or not.

Darn, is there anywhere where I can find it broken into several zips? or is there no hope for someone with dial-up?

it might be in your C: drive in the folder "BF2_ModTools"

No hope for you at all. Plus, it doesn't have anything to do with models. It's just a layout program for creating maps.

A dial-up connection at 33 kb/s should not take ages, just a few hours for 650 mb or whatever its size is.

Here's what to do with a slow internet connection:

First, start the download and leave your computer. Now, make sure you find a nice looking female somewhere that you like. To make sure things does not get screwed up, chances are very high that she is located outside the "C:\BF2_ModTools folder" and probably not interested in it at all. Yep, that is the sad truth. Ask her out for dinner or on the movies. Don't make her notice that you eagerly await your download, but try to relax in her company and make her believe that you are not at all worried that 6 hours of life-essential download carries any corrupted data. It might just stress her Lua-scripts up really bad otherwise and her planning paths may get REALLY confused and disorderly. Actually, talking worriedly about a download to a girl while you spend a romantic dinner with her could actually cause a light damage-region to appear just on the sensible outer parts of your face. Not a good thing at all - and the worst part is that not even a Clean Munge will fix it.. Well, if you follow these advice I guarantee that you will not notice that you had to wait any time at all for the download. Actually, you might even thank your slow internet connection the next morning..

Downloading on dial-up does take a while. Sure, 33kb/s isn't too bad, but it rarely downloads at full speeds. I'm connected online at 42kb/s but most of my transfer speeds seem to average out around 4kb/s. It takes days to download things at that speed. And remember, when you are on dial-up you are tying up your phone line.

If your public library has internet access, go there and download it or ask a friend with a faster connection. A download manager that lets you resume disconnected downloads helps too.

Here, I used to have that a similar problem with dial-up. I found this program, which allows you to resume downloads in case your internet dies or the transfer link brakes. Sure, it still takes forever, but at least now you won't have to worry about you losing the file in the meantime

That was hilarious Elerion.

My old computer sucked and it had 56kconnection, I can't even imagine how painful 33 is. Mine is like 128 and it's still way too slow.

when it's on 24 k (like now) it really sux

Yes, that was funny :p Even though I'm just starting to mod this game, and have no idea what you said :p

And a download manager like that is EXACTLY what I need :D But does anyone know if that thing is full of viruses/spyware? too many free programs are.

Save the file but don't run it. Then scan it with something like McAfee or another spyware/virus scanware
