Kashyyyk: Kachirio - Yup, it's still coming

I figured since I was about to post some spoiling footage in the Modding help forum, I might as well let the cat out of the bag.

So, as a result of a jam - packed shcedule and a monstrous project (as well as the devil, aka World of Warcraft), I'm FINALLY ready to produce some "half-way" screenies to entice you all. I thought about doing a trailer, but that's just too much work away from the map (and it's taken me what, three years to inch along?). I'm not sure where the progress of this map stands percentage-wise mods, but I can assure that a lot of it is finished - and a lot still has to be done.

The final (or at least, the beta version) is planned to have the following:

*Full network of platforms spanning across three of the giant trees and gamemodes utilizing them (complete with landing platforms, huts, gardens, a premmenade, and more!)
*Completely re-done sides
*New Heroes
*Six gamemodes, including XL
*Hunt mode and others beside Conquest and XL featuring a nighttime version of the map
*A very action-packed experience

Now, the progress may be slow, but it will come. I've spent too much time on it.

Looking out from Yoda's platform. I had to cut this upper area out of conquest, but it WILL be featured in most (if not all) of the other gamemodes as a battleground. Otherwise, it's just a place where humans can go to take in the view. :wink:

Droid Gunships are the scariest thing evar. Seriously.

Some ground-level villiage action. Yes, nearly every hut and platform is properly planned and barriered w/hint nodes. I exceeded the connection limit for AI planning twice before cleaning it up.

Another shot I thought was pretty cool.
So there's where my first (and possibly last) map is right now. As you can see, it's pusing some limits on the engine (and, consequently, it might push some low-end machines too hard, but I plan to mess around with the AI count and see how low I can get it without sacrificing the sheer havoc - except for XL of course :D ). Wish me luck!

Man, looks cool! I played your earlier version and this looks ten times better, I sure hope it won't lag that bad. The older version wasn't laggy so this one shouldn't be. Good luck :)

Yes, it's looking great indeed, I just hope it doesn't lag my machine like ML Kashyyyk did, great job though man, looking forward to playing this one. :thumbs:

Manderek took my words! It looks AWESOME! I love the fact that you can actually walk on a system of trails on the trees. That's how the shipped Kashyyk should have been like.

PS: I love the wookie flyer thing :D

The bridge that connects the premmenade to another tree was basically inspired by that game (though it's obviously not as awsome). I'm also including Republic Commandos as playable units.

ROCK ON DUDE PLEASE FINISH THIS IT LOOKS SOOOOOOOO!!!!! AWSOME . the first one was great one thing ADD 3rd person views for all the cars and stuff

lol the only other map ive wanted to play this bad is the cage match
and i thought yankfans and a_speck_of_dusts map was good, this one looks like the best kashyyyk map ive ever seen!!! awesome job!! :bowdown: :bowdown: :runaway: :maulsaber:

Sure, if your friends download this map too, I don't see how multiplayer would be a problem.

No, they're just sitting there as a CP.



....PSYCHE! Of course you can! Unfortunately, when they are destroyed, the game crashes to the desktop. I'm still trying to figure out why.

Edit: So, I got the teleporters working now. Also, I got rid of the elevator, and instead have them take bots and humans through doors to eliminate downtime:

The amazing thing is, the AI really doesn't get screwed up as far as their paths go when using teleporters. It's working pretty well.
