Making a lightsaber

so i have recently figured out how to make models and after scaling it to where it would fat a jedis hands the models wont show up ingame and i was wandering is there a certen way i have to set up the model to get it to work in game or anything else i need to do to get to work.

so far all i have done was change the msh its looking for to the name of mine.

Did you put the model inside a null? Thought I was told one might have too tilt a melee weapon towards the z-axis.

Also sometimes if you use the word light in your model name, your model will disappear thinking its a light effect I assume.

ahah, I'm not familiar with blender. Sorry :). XSI is good.

ok so after adding hard point and exporting with Crosswalk then converting to msh with mshex i munged the model and it causes pc_modelmunge to crash at

Code: Select all

 saber_hilt has 0 vertices and no collision geometry - using normal geometry
wat have i done wrong

EDIT: the model was made with blender then imported to xsi

Does Crosswalk export the hp data too?

looking at the msh file with a hax editor hp_fire is mentioned.

after trying to munge again the munge log came up this time and it says my model has no polys :o

huh, wired LOL! Did you download the xsi modtools? would be easier!

If using the mod tools, you can rebuild your model there then get somebody too export it or use mshex or what ever its called

would it be possible to uv texure it in blender then export it to xsi(dont like uv texturing on xsi very much)

I would think so, since uv's are frozen in place and never really matter when converting to other formats.
