to do that all i would have to do is copy another option file and rename it no hex editing involved?

Edit: i tried what you said and it didnt work

Clean and re-munge. It won't munge msh.option files after the msh is already munged, at least not in my experience.

BTW just looking at what you were doing there, if you have a hill you would only need 2 terraincutters, one on either side. Think of the terrain as a piece of paper, if you raise part of the paper you only need two holes to see through it.

That being said too, you will need something to put between the two holes under the hill or everyone will fall as they enter. But we'll assume you were going to do that anyway :D

On a test map, try and put a terraincutter halfway through the ground, then on the save pull down go to the bottom where it says Save as Type and select terrain, select the .ter file that shows up on the list and save. Then do a normal save, munge and play find the whole and if you fall through then you are doing things right.

Now on your map, do you have anything going through the hole you put in the hill? If so just move it up and see if you fall though the hole in the hill as well. It may be what you are putting into the hole that is stopping you.

You shouldn't need it but try making a .option file for the terraincutter msh you are using and put
-nocollision in it.

so as and example the filename would be cuttercube.msh.option
