Can someone who has done this before, please give me a full proof guide to making a hunt mode?

I'll walk you through it tonight when I'm back on my PC. I'll try to sign on to Xfire too so you can ask and questions

Ok, I maybe at work, I have a 3 hour shift later today.
I'll leave x-fire up, so you can atleast send me the instructions, if I'm not there.

Caleb-only tutorial (it's rather advanced)
1-Copy a hunt lua to your /scripts/MAP folder. Adjust everything so it fits your map
2-Open mission.req, scroll to the bottom. Add [MAP][C or G]_hunt to the list
3-Go to Data_MAP/Common/mission. Make a new req for each _hunt lua
4-Open addme.lua... in this section
mapluafile = "AT5%s_%s", era_g = 1, era_c = 1,
add mode_hunt_[c or g] = 1
5-Scroll down to the AddDownloadableContent section and add your entry. For example:
AddDownloadableContent("TA1","ta1g_hunt",4)

Thanks Tean, I'll try it out tonight.
I'll be moving the Mando Vs Jedi into a Hunt mode, and make CW defualt.
Some one brought the idea up (you know who you are) and I guess I agree now, since theres only like 4 units per side, kinda hard to do a good conquest like that.
EDIT
Ok, Hunt mode shows up, all is fine except there is no map, could someone walk me through setting up and moving data into or whatever needs to be done to make a new layer?

- Open you Hunt Lua and change this line:
Code: Select all
ReadDataFile("dc:***\\***.lvl", "***_*insert_gamemode*")
Code: Select all
ReadDataFile("dc:***\\***.lvl", "***_hunt")
- Open up your map in ZE
- Click on Active layer Change button
- Create a new layer and rename it "hunt"
- Click on game modes configure
- Remove it from common layers
- Type in hunt in mode name and then click add
- Click on the add button in Layers Used and add the hunt layer
- Click on update REQs and MRQs and navigate to your ***.req
- Add your command posts and layer specific objects
- Save and Munge, then play away!
*** Represents your map's three letter acronym
