Hey, I decided to make a new skin for the clones. Actually, a remade one for phase 1's, and new phase 2 and a commander skin. I had sketched them on paper a couple weeks ago, so anyway, here's what I've done with the phase 1.

I'm also probably going to make ground units in the legion green and space units red, instead of all units both colors.

Ok, got some feedback from a private beta I sent a while ago, and confirmed a problem I had, so I increased the shielding given to RC's and got some improvement, but I also had to update the BX commando's smg. apparently they were too accurate and that's part of why Mos Eisley CW Hunt was so unbalanced. But I just won as the RC's even after starting the map playing for the CIS, so it's an improvement.

EDIT: New unit class.

Purpose: Replace the rocketeer on maps that don't have tanks.

Weapons: Shotgun*, pistol, cryoban grenade x3, melee

Movement speed is the same as the rocketeer, HP has been tested at 400, is currently reduced to 350, may be reduced to 300 still after testing again. Why? The unit has an 'environmental shield' that gives it just enough shielding to be immune to drowning. It does make them slightly tougher in a fight too, so less hp.

The particular shotguns will vary a little in shot count, but I'll try to keep them balanced.

CIS: Trando Slaver/IG Assassin Droid - ACP
REP phase1: ARF - FA-3
REP phase2: ATRT driver - FA-3
ROTE: EVO - FA-3
ALL: stock trooper msh - FC-1
IMP: Swamptrooper/Heavy Weaps Trooper - FC-1

- only swamptrooper actually set up so far

Yep, and that means I really want to make a couple maps that take full advantage of this ability at some point.

Anyway, what about using IG-87's, or whatever number, for the CIS?

I like the idea, but maybe the swamptrooper model could replaced by a different model (or skin) on maps like the Death Star and Tantive IV. I don't think a swamptrooper would fit in very well, although it is really cool. It would be sort-of like having a the felucia sniper on in the aforementioned maps. It's the same principle.

That is an accurate suggestion. What model should I use then? I would think the EVO trooper would be phased out by then...

Maybe you could just do a reskin of the swamp trooper model. You did an excellent job with the model, just give it different camouflage, like the Storm-Commando in BFX ( it was white on Hoth, dark on other maps, and jungle camo on Kashyyyk and Dagobah)

EDIT: I actually like both ideas for the CIS, the trando and the assassin droid (I don't what it's called). Trandoshans seem like the kind of species that could survive under-water for a prolonged period of time, and it's always nice to see organics fighting with the CIS. However, I also think the IG-88 model is fantastic. Maybe on Kashyyyk and Dagobah there could be a Trandoshan unit and on indoor maps there could be an IG-88.

Oh, for the imperial. I have been meaning to get a stormy with pauldron but no backpack to use for the sniper, i could use it for the 'naval' swamptrooper, with a rename, as well.

EDIT

Something else I was thinking about, except for the primary weapon being a shotgun instead of a rifle, the unit is very much like just a slightly better rifleman.

So what if the weapons were Shotgun, lightsaber-style melee weapon of some sort.

Like:

Trando/Swamptrooper: Shotgun, Knives.
IG Assassin/EVO/Imp Heavy Weaps: Shotgun, Electrostaff
- (not the same .combo as the magnaguard though)
Rebels/Clones: Shotgun, Vibrosword

I think the melee attack would then be usable underwater. For the possible map I'd like to make to really make use of the ability...

CIS should have IG-86 (Those were the main IGs used during the CW)

I think Trando's with knives is a really good call, makes me think of the ones you encounter in Republic Commando.

EVO Troopers are just as old as regular Stormtroopers if we go by the TFU game, and it supposedly took place 2 BBY. So they could probably still work as the alternate to the Swamptrooper.

Perhaps the replacement for the rocketeer on some maps could be something like a heavy gunner class? It would be like the rocketeer but would have a heavy blaster cannon instead of a rocket launcher.

Something like
Republic P1 (ARC Heavy Gunner) Z-6 Rotatory Blaster Cannon, Pistol, Grenades, Melee
Republic P2 (Clone Heavy Gunner) Z-6 Rotatory Blaster Cannon, Pistol, Grenades, Melee
CIS (Trandoshan Elite) LS-150 Heavy Repeater, pistol, Grenades, Melee (Bayonet)
Empire (Heavy Stormtrooper) [Insert Heavy Blaster Cannon], Pistol, Grenades, Melee
Rebels (Rebel Elite Soldier) Z-6 Rotatory Blaster Cannon, Pistol, Grenades, Melee

Just a suggestion, feel free to ignore, I know sometimes getting a suggestion as a modder can be annoying, if it is, please tell me, just trying to help out. :)

EDIT: I do realize there is a gunner class already in your mod, though this is more of a kill them all gunner instead of a support gunner if you know what I mean.

Yeah, I could do a heavy gunner, but the problem is still that it's going to be a 0 point to unlock unit, so it can't just feel like a more powerful rifleman.
