Generally, I just place the CP outside the building, then move it in from outside.

What do you mean? What difference does it make if you place it first or not?

When trying to place an object (the CP) inside another object (building), the object being placed tends to try and stay on "top" of the one already placed. However, it will stay on top of any objects that you have the pointer over. If there is already another object inside the building, you can place the object on top of the existing one.

For instance, If I try to place a CP in a rep_lander, the CP will disappear from view when I move the view into the rep_lander. In actuality, the object is being spawned over the rep_lander. However, if another object is already in there, I can spawn it over that instead by putting the cursor over the object inside. If there is no object inside from which to place over, I place the CP outside, then use C to move around until it's where I want it.

It does make me wonder what would happen if you turned the whole building into a CP...gonna have to try that sometime.

P.S. Does that help? Or am I misunderstanding the problem?

I'm trying to put the CP into the geo_bldg_hanger. The hanger has these boxes that stick out of it with a cross.

I know it IS possibl;e because of maps I have seen, for example Maz1 is a maze with a covering and CP's are in it, also the stds such as Kamino, Rhen Var and others.

Boxes sticking out sounds suspiciously like the terrain cutters...

In any case, Objects can be moved around if you hold the C button. The three buttons of the mouse govern which direction (x, y, and z axis) the object will be moved when you move the mouse. Z will rotate the object similarly. If Zeroeditor will not let you place something in a building, just move it in from outside.
