I'm remaining optimistic and trying to steer clear of any details until I finish another playthrough with the DLC. Once I finish it I'm going on YouTube and looking at all the other possible endings.

Okay, so. SPOILER ALERT (for the Extended Cut DLC). Do NOT read on Marth.
Hidden/Spoiler:
I'm not 100% happy, but I am a lot more happy with the three endings than I was before. I think they did a good job. Except for one thing I'm livid about.
The New Refusal Ending. This can't even be blamed on EA. This is Bioware. What are they saying? To all the fans who wanted to tell the god-child to go screw himself, we want a better ending than the RGB choices we were given? Bioware tells us sure. You can now tell the god-child no, I won't choose one of your crappy RGB choices. Sounds good right? Except one problem. YOU Diet Dr. Pepper LOSE AGAINST THE REAPERS AND THE CYCLE CONTINUES. If you don't like our endings, you're a failure. LOSER! YOU SUCK! MISSION CRITICAL FAILURE YOU TERRIBLE PERSON.
I'm furious. Bioware shouldn't have added this. All this is is Bioware telling all those fans to go screw themselves, we're wrong. If Bioware hadn't added this, and just changed the RGB endings as they did? I'd be happy. Not content, but compared to before the RGB endings are amazing.
End of rant.

No, it makes perfect sense. If you shoot Starchild, it means that you are refusing his terms and you will not make the choice to save the galaxy, showing that they do not deserve to live. I picked destroy, and I was beyond satisfied with the ending. It was great. Also, they imply not only that Shepard survived in Destroy like they did before the EC, but they also imply that the Normandy crew is going back to try and find him/her.

Hidden/Spoiler:
The problem is not that it doesn't make sense, the problem is that Bioware put the fourth ending in there at all. It's there just as a big middle finger to fans. It didn't need to be there as it is.
I don't mind destroy too much, but EDI and all the Geth die so that's not good for a multitude of reasons. I can live without the Geth, but EDI? I love her character.
I have a hard time swallowing Synthesis, but there's a lot of good there. EDI and the Geth are there, the Reapers are now helping rebuild. I don't like that Shepard dies though, and how everyone is now a half-synthetic freak.
I'm not sure about my opinion on Control. I do love that Shepard becomes immortal and how Shepard sounds a tiny bit scary with all that power. I like the scene of the Reapers rebuilding the relay, this implies they'd do the same in the Synthesis ending.
I'm happier than before, a lot happier. I think overall they did a good job, but adding the fourth ending in there was a bad idea. There will be backlash.

Hidden/Spoiler:
So at first I - well, at first I shot the God Child 4 da lolz.
Then I reloaded a save and picked the destroy ending. Now, what I was hoping for was, roughly:

Shepard lives.

Reapers are destroyed.

Galaxy isn't thrown into the stone age.

All your squadmates live (minus Kaidan, who I tossed on Virmire, and Thane and Mordin and Legion, whom I mourned).

EDI and the Geth don't totally perish.
What do I get?
"It will take time, but we can rebuild everything that was destroyed." *Cue shot of rebuilt Citadel*
Well, Shepard lives, the Reapers are destroyed, the Galaxy most certainly isn't thrown back into the stone age, everyone who can live does, and if the Citadel can be rebuilt, it's almost definite EDI and the Geth can be, somehow, as well.
Call me a happy camper.

i know im pretty late to the party but...
Hidden/Spoiler:
i like the extended cut and especially the fourth choice because it is a bad choice which i prefer over only having three choices with very similiar outcome. plus i fount it by "accident"
did anyone notice the changed endingmessage? its total hyprocrism of course but it shows that they somewhat care about the reception of their marketing

You can never be too late too the party (except if you're 30 days late). Hello there D.U.C.K.
Hidden/Spoiler:
Let me guess. You shot the sparkly god child and you got the 4th ending. A LOT of people have had that happen.
It's a big F-YOU to the fans for many reasons. It says "here's what we think of your idea! YOU FAIL! HAHA, YOU SUCK. Pick one of OUR endings. If you don't, you're a failure!" And to add insult to injury, they give you the 4th ending if you shoot the Catalyst. That was really low. They know a lot of people did that.
I noticed the changed ending message. I forget what it said. It still tells you to buy more DLC if I recall correctly. But it is a little better.

Totally disagree about it being a knock on Bioware's fans. It's a statement that they want to stick with their creative vision, like they said.

Of course it's a statement about wanting to stick with their creative vision. But the way it's presented is clearly meant to tell fans they were wrong. There's not any "misinterpretation" on my part.
They should have left it out. I might have been completely happy with the Extended Cut if they had.

To each their own, but I didn't even remotely see it that way and I don't understand how people can. I guess I could get behind leaving it out, though.

Fair enough.
Anyway. Free Earth multiplayer DLC just released yesterday. I wonder when they're going to start charging for their DLC again. It's got "damage control" written all over it.
Heh. The 6 new N7 classes they added are going to be in Unification as the "Specialists" Marth mentioned awhile ago. They look like they can kick Diet Dr. Pepper.

Partly true on the multiplayer part, but with the booster pack shop it pays for itself and it stops them from dividing the community even more like other games. I stopped playing BF3 because I don't have the cash at the moment to buy premium and it's pointless to play without it/the dlc.
They'll charge for the single player content for sure, but since they also started a trend of free multiplayer fans won't be happy if they have to pay for it.
I know I'm late to the party, but I finally played through ME3 and I get it (although I was certainly primed for the negativity given the reception).
Hidden/Spoiler:
Bioware, I just sunk a hundred hours into your games. Is it too much to ask for the option to get everything I want at the end? You know, all the good guys live, all the bad guys die? You used to know how to write happy endings!

Yay! Mav is finally familiar with the Mass Effect universe! Now when he reviews my mod he'll actually know what the heck everything is! But really, great to know! I take it you played the first two games as well?

Yeah, of course - I played those several times quite a while ago. I've been sitting on ME3 until I had a PC that could run it.

Okay, so after literally three months of owning it, I FINALLY got off THEMARTHBUTT and beat the game.
Hidden/Spoiler:
I have the extended DLC, so I guess shooting at the Catalyst (lol I was curious as to what'd happen) caused the Reapers to win. Not sure if that's supposed to be how you take the extended DLC choice or what, but whatever.
