Okay, today, like always, I come back home from school, turn on my computer, and start firefox to "surf". Well, when I got to my Bookmark section, I realized ALL my bookmarks were absolutely GONE.

Did Firefox make an update of somesort? Cuz it seems that making Bookmarks is so much harder and take a lot more time now.

Also, when Firefox starts up, it doesnt cover up my whole screen like it used to. any help on that?

First, bookmark prob, search your computer and see if you have a boomarks.bak. Tell me if you have this or these files on your comp and post the file date and size.

If u have any siblings it could have been them on purpose or by accident. My sister did that to me but on Internet Explorer.

Firefox bug. Interested to see what Shadow has to say.

Cause the same thing happens to me. I think when theres major build updates (recently went up to 5.01.02 or something) this happens.

Or it could be random.

But keep going Shadow..

Nope, I dont. The file I checked is now 0kb, which is quite shocking. I've bookmarked most of my old sites back, but just cant remember some of them.

Anyone successfully removed the Bookmarks toolbar so it doesnt show up in ALL windows?

p.s- ANyone been able to remove that annoying folder in favourites you cant seem to delete?

Have you changed profiles lately (different username)? Also, are you the default User (Administrator profile done at initial startup or when you setup the computer)? Stupid Question, I know, but you can never be to careful. Simplest first, then to more complicated last. That's my motto.

Book marks toolbar:
open the window that you want to customize, and then go to the "View" menu and select "Toolbars -> Customize"; alternatively, right-click on the toolbar and select "Customize". To remove a button, drag it from the toolbar down into the Customize Toolbar dialog.

Warning:
It is not recommended to remove "Bookmark Toolbar Items" from the toolbars. If you don't need it, hide the Bookmarks Toolbar. Last i checked, there was a bug if you did this.

You can manually delete the bookmarks folders from your bookmarks section simply by browsing to the bookmarks folder and deleting them.

Trouble is, i forget where this folder resides.

Off-topic : SkyHawk, if I were you, I would look at the content of this Google® Results Page, since it refers to Articles and Resources which might help you to get your hands back on the Bookmarks you added through Mozilla Firefox...

You might have switched Firefox profiles (it's happened to me a few times). Check the Firefox help file to see how to change it back.

The answer I found! The answer I found!

Profile Manager:

http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile#new

How to manage profiles. Worked for me.

The Profiles are stored in C:\Documents and Settings\(name)\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox

Follow the steps in the link above.

Off-topic : I have to admit that you have been rather efficient, PvtParts, and I even originally thought that you were equally too much trustful when you were announcing that you had succeeded in finding the proper way to work out SkyHawk's problems. Henceforth, I am noticing that I mistook about this "Statement", and that's why I would personally wish to congratulate you for having shared the above findings with the whole GameToast Community...

Great work, so !...
