Clan needs help with hosting custom maps

Post by $iniSTar »

Ok first off , we already know we wont be able to use BLACK BAG server admin program. But we are willing to make a custom map server using my MOS EISLEY DAWN heroes map. How can we set up a server to use a map that was made in zero editor? Do I need to modify something further or add some sort of file so that the server can list it? If this works out good we might just host more and more custom maps , but first please give clear instructions on how. or link me to a tutorial on hosting custom maps.

Thank You for your time.

This how you do it:

Open DSMANAGER and set up the server as you want it with one map. Doesn't matter which map.

Make sure the server starts.

Close it.

Go to the dedicated server folder and open the file called bf2cmd.txt IN NOTEPAD (other text editing programs add stuff to the file which makes it not work).

Add the word BattlefrontII.exe at the beginning like this:

BattlefrontII.exe /norender /nosound /autonet dedicated /resolution 640 480 /nowaitlate

Save the file with the extension bat instead of txt. Remember that on some PC's that if you don't have the folder option of "Hide extensions for known file types' UNCHECKED, then you will actually save the file as a bf2cmd.bat.txt file and everytime you click on it notepad (or your text editing program) opens up instead of the server.

Make sure the file resides in the location containg battlefrontII.exe.

Add the maps/modes you want to the file as needed like:

BattlefrontII.exe /norender /nosound /autonet dedicated /resolution 640 480 /nowaitlate /gamename GT/TAWModMapPack1 /tps 20

/playerlimit 20 /playercount 1 /bots 20 /noaim /sideselect /difficulty 2 /bootlagger 400 /heroes 1 /hrunlock 3 /hrunlockvalue 10 /hrplayer 7

/hrteam 3 /hrrespawn 2 /hrrespawnvalue 90 /pregametime 0 /voicemode 2 /throttle 6144 /spawn 3 /netregion NA AT4c_con 200 200

AT4g_con 200 200 AT5g_con 200 200 AT5c_con 200 200 AT6g_con 200 200 AT6c_con 200 200 AT7g_con 200 200 AT7c_con 200

200 BS1g_con 200 200 BS1c_con 200 200 BS2g_con 200 200 BS2c_con 200 200 BS2g_eli 100 100 BS2c_eli 200 200 GO1c_con 200

200 KM1c_con 200 200 RH1g_con 200 200 RH1c_con 200 200 RNVg_con 200 200 RNVc_con 200 200 TA1c_con 200 200 YV2g_con

200 200 YV2c_con 200 200 AT6g_eli 200 200 AT5g_eli 200 200

Double-clicking on the bat file will start the server and the dos window can be closed after the server starts.

You have to make a folder called AddOn in the root folder of the server software. put your mod map folders in there and remember to delete the data/lvl_pc/sound folder. Just the sound folder from that location.
