A good new release...

Hey guys,

I'm getting bored of my pc games... and I would like to get a new game. I've searched the internet on top 25 pc games and E3 lists but they all seem a bit dodgy. Is there a good game out there for me? I'm interested in FPS games and Open world games.

Favourite Game Concepts:

1.Open World
2.Aim down sights
3.Shoulder view aiming
4.First person

Games I've had the most fun with:

GTA IV
Half-life 2
Bad Company 2
Rainbow 6 Vegas 2
Farcry 2

Games that I've have and don't play:

Just Cause 2
Fable the lost chapters
Red Faction Guerrilla
Borderlands
Elderscrolls oblivion
-----

So according to those lists, what game do you I should buy that has pretty good graphics?

(hopefully not only should this thread be helpful for me but I could help you to)

Call of Duty : Modern Warfare, Republic Commando, Mirror's Edge

if you enjoy "graphically" older games too:
Half-life and Jediknight 1 and 3

and if you like both graphically older games and uncommon games with great atmosphere:
XIII and No one lives forever 2

Mass Effect 2 is one of the greatest games I have ever played. However, the ME2 experience is not as amazing without playing through the first Mass Effect 2-3 times and then playing ME2 3-4 times. And make sure to play through ME1 those 2-3 times before you even get ME2, or else you'll never be able to go back to ME1 again. ME2 is just that much better.
Also, if you liked GTA4, based on what I've heard you'll like Red Dead Redemption, though I've never played it.

I'd say Fallout 3. It's basically Oblivion with guns, which you seem to like.

Is Fallout3 like Stalker? Cause they are both based on a nuclear explosion/mutants... Stalker I don't have installed on the computer but I its the greatest game I've everplayed, you can tell by my avatar.

Half-Life 1 (if thats still around)
Read Dead Redemption
Mass Effect 1 (2 is on xbox isnt it?)

From my own research-

Legendary (looks good)

mass effect 1 and 2 are both ported to xbox and pc
if youve enjoyed XIII you MUST play no one lives forever 2, it has a similiar original setting. you play a spy in the 80's with a lot of funny james-bond-like gadgets etc and great humor and even more funny conversations ot overhear than XIII

Halo: Reach is not available for the PC, at least not yet.

@Lozza: Another game that you should consider looking into is the PC port of Gears of War.

really? in my opinion the game is only fun as long as you can laugh about the extremely "cool" and mature dialogues between the main character(naissss! got one! sh*t! sweeeet! not really.) and other characters (dang! gotcha! kill em!)
which is not a ver long time. i didnt really enjoy the gameplay due to the onebuttondoeseverything amnd generally the controls.

if you want some insight into the debth of the dialogues: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ukc12RFm2E 'round the first minute gives you the best idea :P

Transformers: War for Cybertron. If you like Transformers, you'll love the game. If you don't, it"ll still present a nice new gameplay concept that will keep you entertained. The only real problem is that the online community isn't too big, so most of the online games you'll play will be deathmatch/team deathmatch, despite the great other new game-modes. Escalation is great too, if you like frantic team gameplay.

I look that up.

and for call of duty, I don't really like those games coz there not real shooters (i sound stupid). Bad company 2 you actaully have to run for cover and hide and not run out in the open, in call of duty can can sprint into a base with a million people and just stand there and shoot em all.

If it has a gun you shoot, then it's a shooter. It just so happens that Call of Duty requires no thinking to get through it, unless you do it on the hardest difficulty. Then it gives you a run for your money.

about getting mass effect:its hard to say if its even worth the low price. if you have have onboard-sound you will most ikely get soundissues like no backgroundsounds on some places, too low dialogue sounds here and there and gunfire-stuttering all the time. it could also crash every 15 minutes, if you are lucky it wont take the whole pc with it. and i forgot that one maincharacter will always have a lowrez facetexture.
it may be a great game if it works properly but for me it definitelly wasnt worth the price due to all these technical issues (that will never be fixed) >.<

I had none of these problems with Mass Effect. I couldnt finish ME 2, maybe because i wanted to do every sidequest/get all of the story and played nothing else except ME 1 for weeks... Same for Dragon Age(which imo was better).

I dont know much about Stalker but i definitely know one thing about Fallout 3, its not a shooter.

well....i just wanna say that me1 wont run that smoothly/isnt that technically optimized (compared to me2). i can play me2 without any lag and the highest settings with a 4 year old sounddriver. me1 has sounproblems even with the most recent driver (for me) and lags randomly aswell as crashes from time to time.

Stalker Clear Sky is the greatest game ever, I recommend getting it : ) (I have all the stalkers)

@Darthduck, so mass effect 2 is better to buy? Apparently the game was so big in size on xbox you had to put in another disc when you crossed the border...
