I don't want this to be rude, but if you want people to ready your posts then type in sentences that start with capital letters, end with a period, and use other punctuation. I honestly tried to read that. I couldn't.

What Teancum said. ^^

If you're talking about only being able to ever install it on one computer, that's only for the OEM licenses, which have always been that way.

And you have to activate it online.. Once.. And it never gives you any trouble after that.. And I mean any trouble, unless you did something wrong..

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en will likely fix the BF2 mod tool compatibility problem. Also, in Windows 7, they're apparently going to run programs in a virtual machine-like thing if they aren't designed for Windows 7, which will probably fix almost all compatibility problems.

But I agree with the money thing a bit though. Since I have an OEM license for Vista, they wanted me to pay them $60 to get on their support hotline to fix a problem created by their backup software. :cpu: :x

1) It makes you do it every time you install, because the software doesn't know that it's already been installed.
2) Activate by Internet, not phone. It's way easier; the phone method is mainly for people who don't have Internet. (And since you obviously do..:|)

*confused*

Are you saying that, if you activate online enough times, it won't let you do it anymore? :?

Yep.Buggy huh? With XP, if there are major hardware changes, you'd have to call, but now it is reinstalled period.

Hm. I've activated my copy of Vista online at least three times after building this computer and never had any problems.. :?

I really like XP - I like the features, the organization, etc.
I realize it's not perfect, but it's definitely one of the best OS' out there.

W7 looks good, but I guess I can't really be for sure...
I'm kinda hoping it's just a better version of Vista.

Indeed. I think Macs and PCs have their own advantages/disadvantages, with one not being better than another. it just depends on which you're used to, and what you want in a computer.

From what I've seen, Macs have very specific uses, such as:

-Some graphic design and video editing.
-Basic users who need easy-to-use Web browsing and email and are willing to pay a heck of a lot of money to get it.

Granted, I would probably add Leopard to my current dual-boot Vista/Ubuntu system if I could do it legally. I could triple-boot on a Mac, but to get a Mac with specs as good as my $1200 gaming computer I'd have to spend $3200 on an almost identical Mac Pro. (I checked.)...

...Which is why I don't use Macs. The operating system's actually pretty good, especially for specific uses, but it just wouldn't feel right for me to have it as my only operating system (I don't know why, but that's just it), and the hardware is too expensive for me. It would take me a really long time to be able to afford that Mac Pro, and I wouldn't buy it anyway, especially when I could get a really good PC and a big, high-def TV (as a monitor) for the same price.

That's just my two cents though. Other people could have good reasons to like Macs. But the 5+ fatal crashes I had last year (on Macs) convinced me that Macs are just not the right computer for me.. At least when a problem comes up on my PC, I can fix it reasonably fast.

I need a Mac for video editing. I don't have much use for Windows anymore, as I do almost all of my gaming on Xbox 360.

I am highly doubting you know everything there is to know about computers. It just doesn't cut it. As to not getting a mac, you also failed to state your reasons... what are you reasons?

Its called an emulator for gaming on a mac :P
