Executer94 and I are working on a mod for Battlefront 1. I'm working on The Galactic Civil War, he's working on the Clone Wars. He should be posting on here soon, as all he needs are screenshots. I've made a list here, go ahead and read it to see what I've done so far. Or ignore it and just move on.
--Edit--
Also a test to see if the forum goes off when I edit the first post, I'm just shortening this.
Hidden/Spoiler:
1. Changed some textures. This is the area I've done the least work in, but I'm moving forward fairly quickly.
I. Changed textures for: X-Wing, Y-Wing, Thermal Detonator, Rebel Rocket Launcher, Tie Fighter, some first-person vehicle views.

2. Changed almost everything I'm going to with vehicles.
I. Weapons
i. The Tie fighter is now a match for the X-Wing. Same with Y wing and Tie Bomber.
ii. The Combat Speeder is now an anti-infantry vehicle. It's fairly useless against other vehicles, but it has a light machine gun that can quickly wipe out large groups of infantry.
iii. The bombs on the Y-Wing and Tie Bomber have had the range and push increased.

II. Meshes
i. I listed these above.

3. shared weapons
I. Thermal Detonators
i. The beloved grenade has seen a massive overhaul. Grenades fired from wookies stick, as do those from imperial pilots, but those thrown do not. I doubled the pushfactor for all grenades. I think this encourages creative thinking. Executer insists that I tell you that he discouraged me from continuing with the high pushfactor, and that it isn't realistic. I agree, it's not. But I would rather have the mod be fun than realistic, so it stays. That, and it's my half of the mod.
II. Pistol
i. The pistol is now actually a threat. it kills in three hits. Pretty much all I did to it, other than speed up the projectiles, which I did to all weapons.
That pretty much sums up all my changes. I have a youtube video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvzwQ5EVNrc which shows all of the changes really well. even the modified blast pressure. I apologize for the awful video quality, it is FRAPS. just don't put it in fullscreen and you might not notice. Again, Executer94 is against the blast pressure, but I like it because it encourages ingenuity. That, and now I don't have to walk across the maps anymore.

--Edit--
I've got some images from my mod. Again, thank you FRAPS. These don't show the changes as well as the above YouTube video, which I did a while ago... So it's not current. I'll try to post another one soon. In the meantime, I have some pictures. With a storyline! And yes, I do play Battlefront at low quality. My laptop is not meant for gaming. If I do manage to post any high quality pictures, I probably won't be doing anything that interesting in them.

EDIT
Hey, I'm back. Sorry, the forum went off for a little while. I tried to avoid double-posting by transferring the whole thing into the first post, but since I'm new here all my posts have to be reviewed by a moderator. So I think that this just went offline for a little while because of the main post. So to avoid losing the forum again, I'm just going to double post. And after that lengthy explanation, some new textures I have for my people, as well as more in depth pictures of the meshes for the X wing, Y wing, and tie fighter.

The X wing. lots of images, I cover it from pretty much every angle. This actually took much longer than the Y-Wing to do. I tried to make it look like it just rolled out of the factory. I know that in the games it looks really, really low quality, but again, that's just because I play in low quality. I promise, it looks like this in high quality. I also sort of made my own decision that there was a third color on the X-wing, other than that whitish-gray and red. It's a sort of tan color that's really difficult to describe. At first I decided it was dirt, but there was so much of that color that I just decided it could very well be the way that the X wing originally looked, before all of the battle scratches. And it looks pretty good with that red color too.
Hidden/Spoiler:
Frontal view of the X-wing. Shows all of it fairly well, I think.Image

Top down view. shows some changes made, well, obviously, to the top, as well as that weird tan color I was talking about above.
Image

Diagonal-side view. Shows the changes to the stripes along the sides of the X-Wing.
Image

Head on view. Doesn't really show much, but there it is.
Image
Shot at 2010-10-27
The bottom view. I really don't like this view, I couldn't find anywhere to change the landing gear. Ah well.
Image
By conqerer2 at 2010-10-27
A back view of the X-wing. I replaced that gray thing on the back with just a solid brown. I figured there probably used to be a panel over those wires, and I decided brown looked pretty good back there. So brown it is!
Image
Shot at 2010-10-27
The Y-Wing. I did this in about two hours. This was my very first mod to anything in battlefront. I thought maybe I'd go back in and change something, but once you cover up all those wires there's really not much left...
Hidden/Spoiler:
A top-diagonal view. shows pretty much every change I made.

A back-top view that also shows pretty much every change I made, but from the back now rather than the front.

A bottom view, since that's pretty much all you haven't seen yet.

Tie Fighter.

The front of the tie-fighter
Image

The side of the tie fighter. This shows my most major change, which was essentially a removal of detail. There's no pattern on the wings now, they're just a solid color. Image
By conqerer2 at 2010-10-27
The top of the Tie fighter. Looks the same as the front, but ah well.
Image
By conqerer2 at 2010-10-27
The back of the tie-fighter. Just for completeness.
Image
By conqerer2 at 2010-10-27
And I've recently made some changes to the rebel marksman. take a look, please tell me what you think. If you like it, I think I'll make the same changes to the other units. Or I can scratch it and try again...
Hidden/Spoiler:
A front on view. pretty much describes everything I think. Yes, the face is very scary. I might work on it. Or i might leave it, since you really don't see that part anyways.

A back view. Shows the changes I made to the pack.
Image
By conqerer2 at 2010-10-27
Top view, shows the changes to that weird hat thingy.

Executer has told me that the vanguard rocket launcher looks awesome, so I'll include that here too.

And that's all I've got so far. If nobody's posted by the next time I'm ready to change something, I will edit this one. I'm not sure if that'll make this topic disappear, but we'll see. I think I'm going to put in a full overview of all the weapons I've changed next.

Well, at the moment you can't play with others because I've modded the weapons as well as the appearances. We're probably also going to release a version with just appearance mods, so that you can play online with it. And with that, we (sort of) have a good reason for me to go into the weapons details (prepare for another, very long, list):
Hidden/Spoiler:
1. Empire
I. Stormtrooper
i. rifle: Weapon now deals a two-shot kill, as opposed to the rebels three-to-four shots. This is because the stormtrooper rifle overheats after nine shots. I'll go into detail below.
ii. Pistol/Thermal detonator/Concussion grenades: I'm not going into detail on any of theses for anybody, because I've listed them in an above post. unless voted otherwise, I'm going to leave them as they are.
II. Shock Trooper
i. Missile launcher: is now a mad anti-infantry unit. They deal low damage to vehicles, but they fly extremely fast, and are lethal in one hit to any infantry. Sort of like sniper rifles with explosives.
III. Imperial Pilot
i. Grenade Launcher: Now fires further, and grenades stick to whatever they hit.
IV. Scout Trooper
i. Sniper rifle: Fires rapidly now, holds ten rounds per clip. One shot kills.
ii. Orbital Strike: Deals more damage to a larger area.
V. Dark Trooper
ii. Shotgun: fires seven bullets instead of five, and they all deal more damage. Shotgun blasts to the face are now very dangerous.
i. Jetpack: Now carries the trooper higher into the air, and allows more maneuvering to be done while in the air.

2. Rebels - I have left out anything that is the same as the imperial equivalent of the weapon.
I. Rebel Soldier:
i. Rifle: now takes three -to-four shots to kill, now fires more quickly. However, it can fire all 50 rounds without overheating, but will lose accuracy after about 15 shots.
II. Rebel Vanguard:
i. Rocket Launcher: sort of the opposite of the Shock Trooper, this is the ultimate anti-vehicle weapon. It locks on from further away, and will destroy most vehicles in two hits. Only fires one missile at a time, but each clip holds two. They can be fired one right after the other.
III. Rebel Marks(wo?)man
All weps are the same as the Scout Trooper
IV. Rebel Pilot
Same as Dark Trooper. (Minus Jetpack)
V. Wookie
i. Bowcaster: Now deals two shot kills. this makes the charged form lethal on a flat area, but also allows for one-shot firing to be effective.
ii. Grenade Launcher: Same as Imperial Pilot
whew... That took a while. Hopefully that told you where I am in the mod. I'll be posting more... at some point. I'm working on my textures now.

--Major Edit--

I have released what I have done of my half of the mod, to allow you all to provide feedback on what you think needs to be done. It is live now. Please note that I am only uploading it to my website because I am allowed full control over the website, and it allows me to release the file bit-by-bit, and lets any of you tell me what you think I need to do to make it better.
--Disclaimer--
Hidden/Spoiler:
Please note that I am not encouraging you to use my website or the business which this website represents. I discourage you from visiting the rest of my site, as none of you probably need to use my services. Again, I am only posting these files here because it allows me to retain full control of the files, rather than having to upload multiple files to Filefront, I can retain the right to remove the files if they're buggy, or change them completely. DO NOT feel that this is an attempt to get any of you to buy my services. I am using the website as an asset to which I can upload my mod as I work on it, NOT as a way to get business from Gametoast.
This is not an attempt to increase business. This is me trying to get feedback from you about what I could change to improve the mod. Please do not tell me to change the appearance of anything that is obviously unedited. Ask me to change any weapons, because I think I am mostly done with those, or any appearance for which you have helpful, clear advice on what you want me to change. Having said all that, the link is: http://arlanenterprises.tinascakeboutique.com/blog.htm . Please, do tell me if you have any helpful suggestions, or if I need to remove this from this forum.

--Edit (again)--

The Readme and both .lvl files have been uploaded as a 7Zip file. Again, I've never done this before. Executer has now taught me that 7Zip can both unzip files and compress them. Who knew? Not me.

--Edit (How many can I fit in here?)--
The files on my website have been updated. The remainder of the rebels have had their appearances updated, and I'm testing out a new weapon for the Vanguard. Download the mod to find out about it. Please note that I will not be updating the independent files, only the 7Zip one. The link will not change unless I say so here.
Aaaand, Executer is finally going to post in here. At long last!

A short preview of the normal bespin map including our mod.
I am sorry that the video does not end when the pictures stop but well the music isn't that bad.

If you ask yourself now why I do not work on my other mods I have no access to my other computer which is "some miles" away.

I know it's been a while since I last posted, but have I got some update? Yes, I do. I have completed all textures for the rebels, and all for the imperials except some vehicles and the stormtrooper, which shares a texture with the Shock Trooper. Also, I have bought SWBF II! It's installing as I type this. So expect to see this mod over there once I've completed it here. Executer has semi-refused to redo this mod over there, so I might be doing the whole thing on my own. But on with my updates! I've changed the rebel vanguard quite a bit, so the sides are imbalanced. his rocket launcher now fires instantaneous explosions- basically, you point it, click, and it blows up whatever you're pointing at. It can kill tie fighters in two shots. I cut the pushfactor down a lot, as well as blast radius. It's really about as useful against people as a sniper rifle, but it has less ammo. He can now carry 8 mines, and can drop 20 before they start to disappear. And for those of you who play with team damage on, I have included what I refer to as a "transport grenade". Expect something sort of scientific later. Essentially, it explodes like my thermal detonators used to (the pushfactor has been lowered), and flings you across the field. It cannot be used as a weapon, as it will fall wherever you are standing when you throw it. (I shoved the gravity on it up to 10 and the velocity down to 1.00. Good luck killing people with that!!!) I included this because I have also decreased his running speed down to 4. I figured with him carrying all that equipment, he wouldn't be able to run too fast. Lastly, I replaced his pistol with a heavy machine gun. It deals the same damage as a assault rifle, but it holds 200 rounds per clip, and the accuracy decreases much more slowly than the ordinary rifle. I'd planned on making him more engineer-ish, but he'd need more weapons for that. But I've heard that you can do that in BFII. Which has just finished installing. I'll edit this once the mod has updated on my website, but that might be a while. :D

--Edit--
The mod is live on my site, but with it's own page now. I figured I didn't want this interfering with my normal site, so I've given it it's own page, which is also linked to off the bottom of the blog, at http://arlanenterprises.tinascakeboutiq ... efront.htm. The file still requires 7zip to open. Executers side will be up shortly...

---Edit (Why am I the only one who posts on here?)--

I think my half is done. I've made some major changes to the shock trooper, who should be about a match for the vanguard. he can fling his mines a few feet, and they take two people within a larger radius to explode. We'll see how that goes. If Executer agrees, I may make a few more minor changes and then put it up as a final product on Filefront. Also, this version of the mod is live on my website, so if you have any comments at all about how I could improve anything, please tell me. It is now a normal ZIP file, not a 7z file. I know I missed the textures on the grenade launcher for the Imperial pilot, but I can't find it. I might be moving this into Battlefront II shortly...

--'nother edit---

So, I've played Executers half of the mod. I am shamed by my low quality of work. If you have played my half, you must play his. It's up on my site now.
Jealousy: I feels it.
The mod now has its own page on my site, at http://arlanenterprises.tinascakeboutiq ... efront.htm. The page is... a work in progress. to say the least. It is still a normal zip file, now includes both halves and the readme. Twenty minute upload for me, two minute download for you. You might just want to install his half, I have to go do some major editing now... :runaway:

--Bah.--
I've found a happy medium. The Vanguard has a new weapon which has replaced the Concussion grenade. This has a very small radius, but a high power. It can't be thrown at all. it will fall straight down. deal with it. I didn't want people to use it as a weapon. Once it hits the ground, you have 1 second to position yourself, and then it blows you across the map. which is fun.
