How do I make my sound effect louder? It is a shotgun effect. It works, but its too quiet. I did amplify it (with allow clipping unchecked) but its still too quiet. Thanks!

Open your sound up with audacity and you will see a + - thing move that toward the + to make it louder.
Don't forget to save.
-EDIT-
you have to "export" then make it have the same name of the original

what plus thing? Can you post a screenshot? Use snipping tool (search snipping tool in the start menu) then save as .png and upload to dropbox/mediafire.

While that works as well, the safest way to do it to prevent clipping is to go to Effects, Normalize or Amplify.
