No do everything it says in the tutorial, this tutorial does work, however I presumed that you were going to open the texture file then save it as a .tga file, photoshop does this automatically, if the texture appears black, this means you have changed the race appropriotly, but it cannot find the texture you changed, this maybe because you saved it as an incorrect file type or you deleted the texture in the folder but forgot to add a new one in.

YES!

C:\BF2_ModTools\data_RT1\Sides\rep

go into the msh folder and open up the skin you want to edit.

once you have changed it just clikc save! DO NOT USE SAVE AS REPEAT DO NOT USE SAVE AS!!!

the error i have that some other people have is when u have finished munging it will say some thing about the version of the tga file. so only use save and it don't mess with versions

ok, i simply took the ep3 clone trooper skin that was in my modified rep sides msh folder in my map data folder and edited it and then saved it. when i ran the game it crashed. i can't think of anything else that might have made it not work 'cept the skin.

Invalid tga format errors. What program did you use to save the tga files?

Did you save it as a .tga file?

Well it seems that people don't have the correct tools for creating the skin, I have adobe photoshop 7.0 and it works fine for me, here is a basic test to see if you have done everything correctly:

Go to: C:\BF2_ModTools\data_mapname\Sides\rep\msh

then, find a file called " rep_inf_ep3jettrooper.tga " (without the quote/speech marks) copy this into a serperate folder and rename it
" rep_inf_ep3trooper.tga " and then simply paste it back into the folder you copied it out of (oh and confirm the file replacement!)

do NOT use save as! what i do is i copy a skin andput it in a save place. then i open it and skin it HIT SAVE!!!! not save as. then open 2 windows so u can drag ur skin from that folder u put it in. to the folder in ur mode!

do it ur own way but don't use save as!

i dident hit save as,now calm down or you might get in trouble with the mods, read the rules*ahem*,
2) Don't Use All Caps
This is just another curteous thing to do. Don't post a message with all caps, nor a topic. It's considered rude, plus it's a bit more difficult to read

I hardly think you can tell him not to use caps when you yourself did only a few posts ago. And anyway it does SAY that it has to be in ALL CAPS, not just a few words
