How to make a terrain cutter?

Hello all. I haven't been posting very much on the forums, but I do plan to post more the near future. My question is: How would I make a terrain cutter, like the hoth trenches? I would like to make my own world war one trenches for my map, so it would seem more authentic, and I would also connect the trenches together. Does anyone know how this could be done? Thanks for the help in advance!

How to use them and here they are

It's best to try and search around for the answers. Search button is in-between the FAQ and Members.

Thanks for the links, but what I was wondering is how would I make my own in XSI?

EDIT:

I found

https://sites.google.com/site/swbf2modt ... NG-objects

And I dont understand it. Would I simply have a mesh called terraincutter and then freeze transforms? Or not? and I don't understand why it would need to be hidden/un-hidden on export/in ZE.
