Just a model I quickly threw together so I could practice my texturing job....anyways...
How's the texture?

Well the blade texture, the hilt and the grip certainly looks nice. All natural looking there. However, the little Aurebesh symbols look cut off in some places on the edges. I dunno, just doesn't feel right with those there for some reason. I guess personal preference or I'm seeing things. lol

I suggest you try reducing the number of aurabesh characters to maybe just a line or two. Afterall, it's a sword, not a book.

I would be very happy with myself if I could throw something together that came out like that

I like the texture for the blade and the grip but i also, am not to sure about the writing on the blade

@ labj: Nice, as always.
@ DRK: Nice, but I agree in full with RevanSithLord.
@ Ninja: You selected your areas of color very well.

Yeah, you are right, release will probably have just a plain texture and people can add whatever they like to it.

What if it is a book?

Maybe "throw together" wasn't entirely correct, I put a decent amount of effort into making it, but its not great enough for the model showcase thread, the only really exceptional part that I thought was worth showcasing was the texture.

O_O Dang. Love the colors and overall quality of that.
@ Ninja. Nice Shocktrooper there! I made a Phase-1 styled Shocktrooper a few weeks ago that I made. It was a challenge, but I'm happy I managed to do it. I'll post it up soon.
