Ok. I just need to get this out of my system. For some stupid reason, game companies don't make all the new games for PC. i.e. TFU Halo3 and Wars. I mean PC gamers have the same rights as console gamers do. IT'S NOT FAIR!!!! BTW those games arent the only games I had in mind.

Meh, I haven't touched a PC game in a long time. Since DLC has become so mainstream I haven't been interested in PC games. Truth be told there's not as much money in PC games. Why should they spend tons of money to make a port for very little return on their investment?

That, plus all the games you mentioned require alot of graphics and computing power; more then most PCs have.

What? Exactly what "rights" do you think you have as a gamer? The "right" to whatever games you want? The "right" to have a game released whenever you want? The "right" to not have to pay for an old game?

QFT - you're not entitled to squat. If they don't want to make the game for PC then deal with it.

Well I mean like. They made FC 2 and Crysis and they are just as good, or even better graphics than some of the games on only consoles.

That's what angers me too, because I really wanna get Halo 3 and Halo Wars but they don't come out for PC or Xbox anymore. How come they just can't make it for other game systems?

The biggest issue with game development is that the ideal market circumstances for consumers are not always ideal for publishers or devs. Console exclusives drive up competition, prompting companies to better themselves.

I agree its sad that shallow button mashing is overtaking the creative feeling of playing real games , games with real worlds and real "player affecting the game world" type games, for instance there are mmos , i play several of these and no console could even touch the nightly game experiences I have, building cities, creating ships, selling things, trading, taking over bases, these are not possiible in linear console worlds.

With my pc games , some I've had since windows 98 , like dungeon keeper, or stronghold cost $5 on ebay and i can install them and play them for months or mod them and play a whole new game with the reply value they have. Other then the month I spent on Oblivion for X360 I have yet to find a game that I even play twice on a console, let alone monthly. A few of us put in Americas Army for xbox 360 and in 3 minutes it was a coaster under my drink. I just cant get into ugly games that have 4 controls and nothing in the game is affected by anything I do. It feels like a hampster wheel. If you dont have online with your console and dont want to pay $49 to find out a game suck is just not worth it, then trading them in for 300 pesos isnt worth my time.

I do agree that for 'shallow' insta a.d.d action, groups of friends that come over that dont play games, being drunk and having nothing better to do in social situations ,playing with girls and for 'who cares gaming' Wii and some x360 games are fun. Im all about Wii fit yoga then some killing in Graw 2 on x360 with a group of people locally even then its only for an hour a month if that - but its truly sad that gaming is getting down to 11 year olds yelling in chat , playing poorly online and glitching and call signs and the end of pc games in stores being at competitive prices.

I have tried to move with the flow and use services like Steam that at least keep it moving , can pick a game and play it within an hour , thats fun. But It feels like people are just dumbed down enough these days that by the time they get off work and sit down , there ok satisfied to put in Konkers revenge or whatever new "hit button masher" is out and just mash buttons until their real life pulls them away again.

Oh well. If its all about money- If anything it would inspire me to put out more console games for some design firm or dev, I'd love to reap the millions these people making crap games and selling button mashers to clones with money.

WILL PAY FOR DEPTH! UNIQUE PEOPLE WANT MORE FROM THEIR GAMES!

1) Because it costs a lot of money to do ports
2) Because they're trying to sell the Xbox 360, which is fair
3) Because the general population would rather play it on the 360. Take a look at the number of Halo Xbox vs Halo PC or Halo 2 vs Halo PC sales

Again unfortunately this comes down to ignorance (which does NOT mean you're stupid, it just means that you don't know enough about the subject) - Making PC ports of a console exclusive is a gamble. Most users have at least one console and if it doesn't have capabilities like modding they will almost exclusively buy it on that console. Personally I'd rather them not do ports and focus their resources on new games. I'm okay with not being able to play certain games. I really REALLY want to play Little Big Planet and Metal Gear Solid 4, but I don't have a PS3, so I just do without.

Consoles are(Most of the time) cheaper to buy, and all games can be tailored to that consoles specs.

Also its a very long and annoying process to get a 'bug' free game made for the PC with such a large variety of specs and setups that each user will have.

Good call, my buddy and I were talking about that yesterday and I forgot to mention it. In summary a Xbox 360 is always the same, even if small parts of the hardware change. With a PC you have the biggest mix bag of the world of hardware, drivers, etc. It's expensive to do.

I prefer PC because of:
- you can do many other things with a PC than just play games
- Counter-Strike (cant imagine playing it with a keypad)
- modding
- and other real games as guru said
Just look at what they did to Rainbow6 games, those were epic games with its special gameplay... and then comes Lockdown (aka worst R6 ever)... and Vegas... and Vegas 2. They screwed up the series just to make it not only on PC but on consoles too.
Same with Ghost Recon.
I played Resident Evil 4 on PC after a friend of mine (who played it on PS2) told me for a month how awesome the game is. I was very disappointed.
Or take a look at the air simulators, you cant make (a good) one on a console, like LockOn or Il-2. And Tom Clansy's HAWX is not a simulator.
Assassins Creed is maybe very good on cosoles and it has definately got fans on PC, but I havent seen such a game before. I expected much more.
Then I watched the walkthrough for TFU on some youtube-like source. Now I understand why it was not made for PC, it would be a disaster. It has typical console-style gameplay like unlocks, skins, achievements, holocrons and so on which makes the game feel very unrealistic. Just look at the Jedi Knight series, TFU is nothing like them.
So maybe its good that they dont release such crap on PC. However Im afraid of SWBF3 now, even if it is going to be released some day, most likely it will happen on consoles only.

exactly my thoughts . They're trying to make IL-2: Birds of Prey for just consoles, and besides the nice graphics, IT LOOKS LIKE CRAP!!!

Yeah, but there's only a very tiny percentage of gamers that get into flight simulators. Most gamers would rather have something more like HAWX.

I wouldn't. That's the game that froze my Xbox and gave me the RRoD.

I downloaded the demo last night, maybe I shouldn't try it.

I downloaded and played the HAWX demo a few days ago and didn't have any problems, fun game As for me I don't really care about which games comes out for each platform. I just be happy with what we do have. First, more people play video games on Consoles than PC. Second, game companies do that on purpose to make the game unique for each platform. Third, some games just play better on Consoles than on PC.
