Hey, so I made a sky for my map and so far, it looks pretty good. However, ingame, the quality of the sky is very bad.
Sky texture:
Ingame:

the poor quality is caused by the small resolution of the texture. if you would give it the size it has ingame it would look the same. my advice would be to double the size, sharpen it a bit and then maybe smooth it

Well sharpening isnt up high on my list of suggestions, but give it a go, if it dosent work start again, but leave out the sharpening.

That didn't work. I doubled the size of the image, and smoothed it up, and even manual clean just to be on the safe side, and nothing.

Enlarging it and making it smoother isn't gonna give it better quality ingame. It's just gonna look distorted like your screenshot. Try a different sky texture thats a higher resolution.
EDIT: fixed some stuff lol

...Uh?
Sorry, but uh...could you rephrase that post? It might just be because I'm tired right now, but I couldn't quite understand everything you said.

Try giving your texture a .tga.option file with the parameter -32bit (check the misc_documentation for texture munge parameters).

Mav is right. You should create a "nameofyoursky.tga.option" file in your world1 folder and add this line to it.

I'll try that. But isn't that a PS2 parameter?

I don't think it is a PS2 parameter. If you feel uncomfortable with -32bit, try to look around in stock tga.option files.

Yes, according to the
misc_documentation.doc it is and therefore invalid for PC usage.

I've used the -8bit parameter before (which is also listed as PS2-only); it seemed to provide a marked improvement. That could be a misperception, but at the very least it is not detrimental.

It takes all of 30 seconds to try. Why ask at all? Just give it a try. You may want to try it in conjuction with the -maps parameter.

It didn't work. I tried the -32bit parameter and saw zero results. I manual cleaned, but that didn't work either. Then I tried -8bit, and then -8bit -maps 1, but still no results.
I don't know what the Diet Dr. Pepper is going on. If it helps any, I'm using the Kashyyyk sky.
