Also, thanks to the Dynamic Map, and Dio, I found my way back to where I was.
Note to Self: Use Dynamic Map in the Future.

You should use Lockette for door/chest/furnace protection, its much simpler on the frontend to use than LWC.
I also highly recommend using WorldGuard administrated regions to protect players creations from griefing, and Pigmap for map rendering. (Example of a pigmap map with a customized frontend on my server -snip-, on incremental renders, our 700mb world takes ~5 seconds to render with only 512mb ram and 1 core allocated to the process.)

Pigmap isn't anything new, many other map renderers have used Google Maps API. What Pigmap is good for is its super fast speed that completely owns all other existing renderers out there currently. (Event c10t which claims to be the fastest.)

Sounds like that will work better/easier, but Fluff and I do some "Guess-The-Password" contests that wouldn't work with Lockette. I'll look into it, though.
Penguin wrote:I also highly recommend using WorldGuard administrated regions to protect players creations from griefing,
We've never had any major griefing problems, and I'm fairly certain it's just one person. So I just needed something simple to watch over the server, which I found. If enough people want it though, I'll get it, I just don't want to bog the server down with plugins. I'm even debating getting rid of War (since hardly anyone uses it anyway) and replacing it with something less lag-enducing. Probably factions, idk.

I'm running the server on a Windows system, I'm none-too-familiar with Linux. I DO have Cygwin, but I've only ever used it to compile simple C programs for my introductory C course, so I'm not exactly sure how to use it fully.
Thanks for the suggestions, though. I really will try and look into it if enough people want the change, but I've also got finals to study for this week...

I just hit the jackpot in terms of awesome plugins. I recently have been obsessed with the pistons mod and have actually made a railroad between my bases powered by pistons, and it has gaps. So why that is relevant is because there are actually two piston plugins for Bukkit, although I find this one, BukkitPiston (Click!) to be better. So we can have pistons on our server now, and do awesome stuff like better railroads, or self-building bridges, or hidden drawbridges over lava.

Attention GT Minecraft Players!
Every so often I will be designing quests that you all will be able to embark on in order to find a treasure, sometimes it's a stockpile of must have items, or really rare items such as diamond tools etc. These areas will have environmental hazards, mob hazards and mazes. On each of these quests I'd request you only have a sword as a tool. That means no picks, shovels or axes as that'd make them too easy. I will create a thread at a later date which I will update at random when quests are available, which I may do every 1-2 weeks or 1-2 months.
TW, I already did some work building a test area and a way to enter but, may I ask for permission to use my OP abilities to actually design the full areas? (A tutorial on setting up portals would also be rather nice)
P.S. On another subject, when DID I get OP abilities?

Wow, way to come back after announcing your leave. Now my newest video has no validity. Thanks a lot. Why don't you just go! just kidding.
The quest idea sounds awesome. I was considering doing the same thing, but instead designing a story-like campaign spanning across the world.

Look through the thread, that one looks pretty buggy right now. I'll watch it and if it gets cleaned up a bit, then I'll implement it.

Psh, as if the rest of us don't already abust the /give command.
If you want, we can make you your own world later on down the road (if it doesn't lag too much) so you can have a totally open environment for quests. If you need help setting up portals:
Hidden/Spoiler:
Working With Portals
Using the Selection Tool Method
Since portals used by MultiVerse do not require signs to point to their location, you can use the selection wand to make portals out of selections. (GT's selection wand is a wooden stick)
Simply left-click one block, then right-click another, to make a cuboid selection. Once a portal is made, whenever a player comes into contact with the blocks, including air, within that selection, they will be teleported to the portal's destination.
This lets you create more inventive portals, such as a drop to the nether. Don't touch the lava.
The /mvpc command can take arguments, or simply reserve a portal name for a later destination. The leading "w:" on a DESTINATION will deposit a player into the destination world's spawn point. The DESTINATION value for "w:" must be one of the worlds listed by /mvlist. The leading "p:" on a DESTINATION will deposit a player at the portal given.
The /mvps command selects an existing portal. The portal's destination can then be changed with the /mvpd command.
Changing or Setting a Portal Destination - /mvpd {DESTINATION}
Example: /mvpd w:nether
The /mvpd command changes or sets a destination for a portal. Without any destination, the command will set the currently selected portals destination to the player's coordinates.
The /mvprename command renames existing portals. You cannot rename a portal to an existing portal name, obviously.
Removing a Portal - /mvpr {PORTALNAME}
Example: /mvpr nethrportal
The /mvpr command deletes a portal. Since the portal's destination coordinates will be deleted along with all of the other portal data, you should make sure that you save the coordinates from the Portals.yml file if you need them for later.
Listing Portals - /mvplist
Example: /mvplist
This command lists all of the portals available on the server.
As for when you got the op, you didn't. In fact, no one has op anymore but me . I found a plugin that allows me to give groups certain op commands using permissions, and since I realized I wasn't going to be as active with the end of the semester coming up, I added some more Moderators (you, Xav, and Fingerfood). So the Moderators have SOME op commands (time, tp, give, list, say), but not all.

Actually, TW, the piston plugin works pretty cleanly. It's not a very clean visual transition and it doesn't toss sand high up like the actual mod does, but other than that it works just like the real mod. There's also a different piston plugin, but the other one seems weird to me.

Looking through the posts, it seems to have issues with Permissions and it also looks like it messes up the pistons every time the server stops (either by resetting them or completely bugging them out), which for us is quite frequently.

Dohnutt was given op before I added new Moderators
But yes, Dohnutt, too.
Looks Cool! It stinks that I need a lot of string to get anywhere though

Hey guys, I thought I'd post here after stalking the Minecraft forums for a while. I went to the server a while ago, if anyone remembers. TW, if you don't mind, would you WL me? My Username is the same as my GT name.

I always come back. Thanks for the support you all! Thanks for the info on the Portals TW and that new world would be great but, like you said lets see if it lags or not first haha.

We now have a server domain name.
gametoastserver.dyndns.org:25566
Not sure if it only lasts 30 days or if it only lasts 30 days of inactivity though.
