Bakura: Rogue Assault beta v1.1

The Battle of Bakura was won, but unbeknowst to the Alliance, the GALACTIC EMPIRE had more to fight for at Bakura than just an ally.
The Empire had recently discovered the lineage of the original clone template for their IMPERIAL ARMY. In an effort to restore their army to its original glory, the Empire had recruited the only unadultered clone of the prime host, a bounty hunter by the name of BOBA FETT.
Under the guidance of Fett and with rediscovered cloning hardware, the Empire had constructed an installation on a remote island in the oceans of the temperate planet of BAKURA.
When Alliance command learned of this operation, they sent a handful of their finest pilots under the command of Jedi Knight LUKE SKYWALKER to conduct a swift strike to remove this looming threat. On the backs of this ROGUE SQUADRON fell the responsibility to maintain the fragile peace that the Alliance had only so recently achieved...

To anyone testing this, I would ask that feedback come in this manner: If it is a problem, please be specific and say the problem and what might be done to fix it. If you have an idea, please be specific and say why you think that is a preferable idea. Compliments may come in any manner you so please. ;)

All previous screenshots and information on this map are located in this link: http://www.gametoast.com/index.php?name ... pic&t=6583

This is the link for the .rar download; the download is probably about 10-15 minutes.

The "fragile peace" is the peace following the Battle of Endor, and the threat to that peace is the potential for a renewed Imperial Army.

It's mostly Kamino platforms, and there is no cap ship except for the landed model of a rebel medium transport.

If you're beta testing, please do not menton the floating trees on one side of the map or the error in height blending around the entrance to one of the volcano cp's. I played through and noticed those; they were from an addition I made to the level before I uploaded it, and, foolishly, I forgot to test once more before uploading. They have already been fixed.

wow awsome map the only things i found were:
>the ai cant go through most of the doorways
>the rebel jet guy needs a jet pack(when i was an imp and i saw one an officer said "some body take out that clone.")
>when i had a tank on the platforms i feel through!
>why cant i get in to the bommers
but over all still a great map keep up the good work!
P.S. i love the speeder hide out! 8)

The AI will get through all of the doorways - eventually. The pathing on this level is made rather difficult by the multiple levels, and is continually being worked on.

The "rebel jet guy" (Rogue Repulsor Trooper) is equipped with a repulsor harness, ergo, no jetpack. And it's a reskinned-model-changed clone jet trooper, so that's why the Imps react as such.

Yeah, try and keep the tanks out of the volcano's maw. Those large Kamino landing platforms have no collision, and there's really nothing I can do about that (the stock invisible blocks are too large).

The bombers I edited so they were unpilotable; they're essentially just prop objects to create the illusion of a landing/repair area.

Thanks for testing it, any suggestions are welcome!

EDIT: Err, you may want to resize that avatar, cloneknight, it's really rather big. 300 x 200... or 200x300, don't know of the top of my head. It's in the forum rules, though.

EDIT: Thanks ;)

Very nice map! The new units were actually pretty cool to play as, my only problem is the setup for the "EMP" launcher (I forgot what you called it), it's cool, but I think you should increase the rockets' damage a little and decrease the ammo. I also found a wallhack near the Kamino-like base in the "volcano" wall, the Hoth door at the entrence to cp9, the "volcano" one. If you fly up above it and drop down, you can get under the tunnel leading to the Kamino-like base (i'll try to get pictures up tomorrow).
Everthing else works great though.

To all of you that have tested so far, thank you. I'm releasing a new beta with a few tweaks.

All the wall glitches should be gone- anyone beta testing, please make sure you check for those all around the volcano mouth and submit screenshots.

The map now has a minimap, which makes spawning where you want to much easier. It also has a load screen. Short of taking your suggestions and implementing them, the only things I can think that might be necessary would be fixing the sounds on the vehicles.

Here's the beta v1.1 (.rar)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TCIJ85VU

To anyone testing, things I would very much like checked:
AI Difficulty. Is the map worth playing single player?

Wall Glitches. If this map is ever to be played multiplayer, all these must be eliminated.

New characters (modded Imp officer, Dark Trooper II, Rogue Pilot, and Rogue R.T.) and weapons (modded commando pistol on Rogue Pilot, Plasma Cannon on R.R.T.). Balanced? Too strong? Fun to use?

Side vs. Side. Does one side have too much of an advantage over the other? The Imperials should have a small advantage.

Amount of reinforcements/units on field. Enough?

Your feedback is not only appreciated, but necessary for this level to be truly great. If something is holding it back, please let me know, and thanks in advance!

The Wall hack I found earlier is still there in 1.1
Here is how you can enter it:

Inside it:

The ai are perfect, I'm glad that the fighters fire at ground units now. 8)

Don't hate it, love it. LOVE ALL

1. Go here:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0JARMMC8

2. Near the top, it says:
"Please enter [random 3-digit code]"
Type the 3-digit code into the box provided, and click download.

3. Then it'll put you on a timer. Once the timer runs out, you will be able to download the file.
