WIP- Republic Dooms Day: Realm of Fire (Complete Revision!!)

Looks like I've been working on this map again..... ;)

BUT..... Rather than working with my old layout, I have created a new, much larger one in order to add a more "doomsday"- type feel. Crashed ships and frigates litter the canyon floor. Rugged terrain adds to the effect.

Done:

-Larger map size, crashed capital ships
-Command walkers and flyers along with fighters
-Lava effects
-Tunnel systems
-Darkened terrain
-The half-sunk clone turbo tank from the original RDD:RoF
-Capture the Flag is working (may add more features later)

To do:

-Interiors for the ships (partially done)
-Get my old sides source files working and finish them up
-Lava beasts
-Death regions in lava, boundaries (left out of original)
-Reskin crashed ships
-Add crashed fighters, etc.
-Hero Assault mode (its there, but not yet working fully)
-Work on GCW era
-Replace a few of the CIS gunships with MTTs
-Add defensable features to some of the command posts - turrets, trenches, etc.
-Add some more lava (reskinned water, instead of just Mustafar objects)

Here's my contributation to the Republic Dooms Day map pack.

There'll be more later.


What is in it so far:

-lots of vehicles
-lava and mountains
-CIS has an advantage in max number of units on the field and reinforcement count
-ways to sneak around the main battle and attack from behind (ex. a path through the mountains surrounding the battlefield)


What I will be adding:

-"lava beasts" that spawn as ambushes on the back paths (and they will spawn as native units from the lava lakes)
-unit reskins
-an overpowered droideka for the CIS side
-mist
-rock foliage

i love huge battles
are you gonna add like fighters?
bunkers would be cool
and anti infantry turrets
looks AWESOME

Looks sick. Heres an idea for mist - change the speeds and what not, give it a wider area to move about in (odf edits), and make the texture look like ash.

Consider adding some scenery; just a big open battle-plain can get kind of... plain.

Hm... it looks VERY good, but maybe just tone it down on the vehicles. They can be fun, but too many is just... I dunno... that's just me :?

What kind of model will you use for the lava beasts ? When I think of a lava beast, I always have a lizard in mind. And, yes, blackrider. There are way to few effective Anti-Infantry-turrets on all the maps.

As to the map: the background looks fine, but anything else... The white clones don't fit in there, they need reskins, as well as their tank, and there should be something that's the reason for all the CPs. I mean, CPs standing on an open plain are stupid, whilst a CP in a bunker is more or less logical.

Looks pretty interesting, but make sure the map doesnt lag will all these specialities. And if it doesn't try modding the rain color to a red for the map.

That looks really good, nice job, are you going to add any MTTs?

Darth_Maul, just an idea for your "lava beast", but in the movie (ROTS)these guys lived on Mustafar mining and whatnot so it's just a thought for you if you want to use it. you could always re skin a wampa or a gungan.... if you need help on skins i will help you if not dragon93 will... he is the main awesome skinner of the team

it seem to me like it is based off of Kashyyyk - Kachiro Landing Alpha except with a mustafar twist
but still I LIKE :)

That would be amazing to have real mustafar people and maybe even Lava Fleas, the mustafarians would have to be extra strong because normal blasters can't penetrate their skin because they have adapted to such extreme heat.

i dont know if any of you played sw galaxies but you should try to make a Lava Mite the big bug with a sattle that cant attak but can walk on lava
