Map localization not working

I've munged the map, reinstalled the Mod Tools, and created three new worlds. In-game I either get @%PRS@%, [NULL], or common.example. This is really annoying. Its not my game all other custom maps work fine and I've gone back to the original lvl's and I'm still getting it. My SWBF2 Log (though I don't think it will help):

Ignore the crash in there its something else. One thing I think that might be causing it is when I munge I get this line " 'xcopy' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. " every time it goes to run a munge.bat file (e.g. munge.bat in _BUILD\Sides\REP) within VisualMunge.exe. It goes multiple times throughout the munging process. I've tried running VisualMunge with and without Localize checked. Any help would be great.

Oh dear, that does sound severe. I'm afraid I can't be of much help, but could you have someone send you their munge.bat files, which you pu tin place of your own? I have no idea if this will help, or if it will make things worse, so do that at your own risk. I hope you find a solution.

Your problem has nothing to do with Localize (or at least the root of the problem doesn't). If xcopy is not working, then the entire munge process is useless. Open the command prompt and type in help xcopy>file.txt. Go to C:\Users\[UserName], open file.txt, and paste the contents here.

When I type in what you say into Command Prompt I get this (once again):

And the text file located in the directory you said is empty. I've found a solution that I'm trying right now which is this:

cause is that the %SystemRoot%\System32 folder is no longer in your
path. Most systems should have a PATH variable that begins with

Another possible reason for this error is that some application
install changed the Path Value Name, in the registry, from a
REG_EXPAND_SZ data type to a REG_SZ data type.

But one thing that that has got me confused is my PATH key value is for Quicktime player. I have no idea why that's there or even if its supposed to be there but if someone with Windows XP can go to Start>Run type in "regedit" and expand the following: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \System \CurrentControlSet \Control \Session
Manager\Environment and copy the Value data (the path C:\Program Files or whatever it is) and post it here that would be great. It would also help if you can specify what type it is (REG_SZ or REG_EXPAND_SZ) and if you can tell what some of the similar keys are (e.g. PATHEXT) somehow my Environment key(s) got changed probably by another software and I don't know which ones and which values are suppose to be there by default. I think its only PATH that's messed up but its good to be safe.

If anyone can post those here as soon as possible that would help me tremendously. Thanks.

Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3.

EDIT: Major update I found this tool called Fix Path that restores the System Variables back to default it seems when I updated Apple Quick Time Player it changed my System Path to Quick Time path for who knows why. After running the program it restored all of my System Variables to default and now I don't get any errors running Command Prompt. Now lets see if it will munge all of the files now!

Good find. That sounds like what you needed. What I was saying was that if xcopy doesn't exist as a command for your computer, then the munge process is shot, since it relies heavily on its use. If you can restore xcopy (and it sounds like your fix should), then you should be able to run everything fine.

Xcopy was always on there it was just my system path was changed because Quick Time replaced it as its own. I remunged my map and it played normal with all localization working properly. But yeah if anyone has a problem with that that tool will definitely be a big help. It took me forever to find a working link to it after hours of searching I found one. Someone else was having the exact same issue as I was with BF Builder. It munges half of the files but never finishes. It says it does and acts normal except for the problems in-game for example the localization problem and than I got the crash like in the first post it turns out there was no problem with my sides that was causing the crash it was my System Variables path.

EDIT: Completely sorry about this. I went back here for reference because I'm having the same problem again and I accidentally pressed the bump button at the top of the page of which I had no idea what it did and it changed the post time on this post :? :oops: Lock please.
