Play as Acklay

Hi,
i have a problem with acklays, i add them to the game (as units), but when i want to play with them the map crahes..
also it crashes when i go to an acklay and it hasn't anymore it's lowres
Can somebody help me?

Actually, Teancum, I got that plenty of times on some space map attempts. And I had done everything properly, too (I went over everything at least ten times). I ran all checks - REQ, file heirarchy, _BUILD/Sides setup, LUA, ZE, _LVL_PC files.... It all checked out, but for whatever reason the turret refused to load. It never caused a CTD, though.

Regardless add "tur_bldg_laser" to your lua. The important thing when you can't figure out a crash is to eliminate every other possibility.

Best thing to do would be to make a test map and put in the geo side in the lua and try to make the acklay a unit. This will let you know for sure if it can be played as a unit and eliminates any other things that may be happening in your current map as a source of the crash.

I've done it a few times; other people have done it a few times (ever play Dann's Battle of the Titans hunt mode?)

The infantry assets for the Convo Pack have playable Acklays in four different colors. I know they work as I built em' myself.

how can i "say" that acklays mustnt run, roll, kneel?

I disabled most of that because the Acklay don't have animations for those things. If you add them they'll get all distorted.
