I like that cactus. However, some of the "branches" look a little blocky to me; they form almost perfect right angles!

I'm trying to make one of the doors of the Trade Federation Battleship for my first map. It's almost done, except textures and some minor detail. That is of course when it's closed, I wanna animate it later too :p

This is my first "real" model, the stuff I made for some tutorials don't count :p

Looks pretty good, you could reduce the number of sides a little on round objects in the future, but it is a good model nonetheless.

@acryptozo: the cactus looks nice overally but in my opinion the UV makes it look implasusible, the rows of pricks should always follow the branches.

@darth-derkie: the door looks really good, keep 'em coming :P

The cactus would look better if you just made it plain green. Right now it looks really really odd.

Sides? You mean the number of subdivisions on the base of the Cylinder? I don't know how I could have done the detail on the door if I hadn't used so many.

really? it is pretty easy to UV it with cylindrical subprojections for every horizontal and vertical branchsection.

Showing off the Otana as well as a question for the Admins.
With previous discussions of what can and cannot be used, in this case textures, is it okay to take pictures of a plasic model (the Millenium Falcon for detail purposes) and add them in as shown in the picture. All the other detail is my favorite ambient occlusion.

No reason you can't - the model is owned by you, your pictures are licensed to you. And after all - the original Millennium Falcon model was made as a kitbash of other model parts and pieces. You may want to use the pictures as a template for painting your own texture, but that's more of a "learning opportunity" thing than it is any kind of anything close to a rule.

I am hesitant to be THAT GUY, but would anyone be willing export some player models for me? I have them all set up properly, each in a different scene. If you can't but you know somebody, that'd be swell too. To make this post not all me begging, here are some models I made for the map I'm working on :)
