Hey guys Ive modeled a quit detailed AK 47 with 2300 tris.
Now, I think everything would be just ok, but BF2 takes the normal mesh as shadow mesh which gives me Performance problems. Ive tryed to set up a shadowvolume but this was impossible too.
Now, is there a known way how to give a weapon a extra shadow?
Thanks in advance
Weapon Shadowvolume?

Pretty sure that the game doesn't use the regular mesh as the SV unless you use the .option flag "-hiresshadow."

Are you sure you don't have a .option file for your weapon anywhere? If you do make sure to check it, even if your mesh has a shadow volume mesh it will still use the model's geometry if -hiresshadow exists. Also what did you name your shadow mesh?
