How can i edit weapons and jet pack?

Ok im wondering, how can i edit weapons in SWBF2 and also editing the sock troopers jet pack.
Iv modded other games but this one confusing.

Please explain what you are trying to do. Are you trying to edit the weapon model? Or editing weapon values: Fire color, damage, range..

yes welcome to gametoast
if you want to edit the acutal weapons: you have to edit them in xsi (see xsi faq topics)
if you want to edit the weapons definition vaules: open up the odfs and edit those

I would recommend looking at the stock documentation, especially Getting Started.doc, although it can be somewhat confusing at times.

No im not trying to change the model just, stuff like ammo amount,damage ect.

Ok iv looked through that document and it helped on other stuff i was wondering on.
Can you just tell me were the weapons files are located. Iv got notepad++ cause i use to mod l4d and SW EAW.

if by sock you mean stock, i would think you need XSI to attach a jet pack to the trooper but if you want it to fly add the fly lines in the trooper's odf
that is the fly/jet effect/control lines of the republic jet trooper that has been modded for infinate fuel you can change the values as needed.
that is only the jet effect and the flight ablity but you would need some other method (like XSI) to add the jet pack itself.
some one correct me if i am wrong.

Thanks for all your help can u please tell me were the files are located and can i just use notepad++ on the files cause thats what i do when i make codes For EAW.

notepad++ is fine
the files will be found in
C:\BF2_ModTools\assets\whateversidethatyourgettingthestufffrom

Im a bit confused where do im in assists/sides but were do i go to edit damages of weapons.

You have to make a custom side first, to put in your map.

Don't worry, once u learn sides and then up and down, left and right, .odf .msh and .tga all blend together into that there dark trooper o and welcome to GT!
