So what I need is feedback, do you think this will work? Are you interested in such an idea? Will you be willing to devote some time to build your little lot?
1) I think if everyone's willing to keep up with it, it'll succeed at least for a while. I'm mostly concerned with the rate at which the map would be updated.
2) Yes. It basically reminds me of Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy.
3) Yes and no. Making my own stuff just doesn't seem possible for the moment, unless MeshEx is up and running.
So, how would skin display be done for infantry? It seems implied that it would be shown on an ingame unit, even though there is a limit to the number of teams that can be used.

This looks really swell, Rep. That lot seems good if not too big. I think there should be a website for this, and you would have to register to get a lot, and to register, you'd need to show something to you, Rep. That would keep the amount down, and have an area to chill even if you're not on the server.

Lol, I approve the above post.
On Topic: I was in fact about to suggest making it like GTA, with houses for memebers, and members could have their own (own skinned/ weapon etc.) unit and their own house with their own arangement and stuff.

That's the point, you just get that if you can't model your own, or get someone else to model you something.

Lol@Maveritchell. Yeah those buildings are pre-fabs in case you can't model.
Plots are 60 meters by 60 meters. I gave one to caleb because I know he can model well, and he will probably end up making a building. I will only give early slots to people that I know are good modelers and will finish in due time.

Right now the streets aren't showing up, so I don't know what the deal is. Once I get it fixed like it should be, I'll hand out the map as is along with a "insertyournamehere.lyr." For example, I made a Caleb1117.lyr. Again to reiterate, I'm only looking for people who are good at modeling to beta test this system. "Good at modeling" means you can model an entire building with an interior.
Streets aren't working because:

No streets? Well, if we're using speeders for travel, you could make skylanes by adding boundries that speeders can't go through, allowing entrance into lots, maybe take away their ability to land in anything BUT lots. Just a though, though it would pwn. Or would thatt not work?
EDIT: Also, are you the only one getting two plots?

Nah, I probably'll never get one. Just watch me.

There's 64 plots, and only 17 responses, there's definitely enough room. I only get 2 lots because:
- I'm doing a lot of the initial setup work.
- I don't feel like resizing my building to make it fit in one.
- Because I know I am an experienced modeler, it's going to be a quality building model complete with interior rooms, and perhaps an elevator; therefore it deserves the space. If someone produces a high quality model I will definitely give them more space as well (up to 2 lots).

And that city of course is this:
With my building occupying C1 and C2; and a circular bar in J1. I had to take out a bunch of water in order for it to not crash/lag. I also have to move down the skydome so you don't see black. Setting an appropriate max fly height will also make it so you don't see off the edge of the world.
I also scaled down my building by half:
On the inside, it has 7 stories you can walk up and down from, via stairs.

Now I just need to fill the floors with something...
Oh another issue, elevators, there's three ways we can proceed:
- A scripted elevator that activates on entering a region (may be too complicated, and not viable for multiple floors)
- An animated elevator that just stops at every floor (may be annoying, but will get the job done)
- A elevator vehicle. Somehow we could manipulate a flyer so there's no gravity, and it can only travel up and down. I'd favor this option.

I believe the vehicle idea would be abused, and besides, with more than one, there would be lots of bumping. Like bumper... elavators... wait, thats not half bad....
Also, I'd like to buy G3 (If a semi experienced mapper is allowed into the Experiences modeler tennements). *Searches pocket for money. Pulls out monopoly bill* Sorry, Im broke...
