Rock Band(s) for the Wii
First of all, don't say anything like "You should get GH4, it's uber-better than Rock Band
All I'm really wondering is one thing.
Are Rock Band 1 Wii instruments compatible with Rock Band 2? I need to know if I should by Rock Band Special Edition and then just buy the Rock Band 2 disc, or if I should just Buy Rock Band 2 Special Edition when it comes out (Rock Band Special edition and buying Rock Band 2 alone is about 10 dollars less than Rock Band 2 SE).
Thanks in advance.

Re: Rock Band(s) for the Wii
The instruments are compatible within that RB name, (not between GHWT and RB). I say go with RB2's instruments because they are of a better build and the drums, especially the peddle is way better.
Just a heads up about DLC and songs. The songs in the Track Packs will not be DLC for the Wii, but HMX will go back and rerelease the songs since the game came out. And if you want to play the original game you have to put that disc in. No importing for obvious reasons. Also the DLC isn't as fluid as GHWT.

Re: Rock Band(s) for the Wii
But I do agree with the first post in saying that this should NOT turn into a GHWT vs. RB2 Debate. That's what this thread was for.

Re: Rock Band(s) for the Wii
Sorry, I guess I should've just come out and said it. How do you know all this stuff about RB2 for the Wii without having played it? There's not much press on RB2 Wii at all.Moving_Target wrote:You are correct.Teancum wrote:?? The game doesn't come out until December on the Wii.
And what do you mean by the DLC being "more fluid"?

Re: Rock Band(s) for the Wii
From the minimal information released throughout the internet (including G4tv and ign) RB2 will have DLC, but will only recognize DLC if it's on the Wii flash memory. But you can transfer songs to the SD card. But RB2 won't look there. In GHWT you can have songs on the SD and it'll come and paste them temporary on the flash memory (about 200 blocks are needed free) and will then delete the song after you play it. That's how it's more fluid, you don't need to keep moving DLC on and off the SD card to play on RB2.
But whether or not that information is 100% valid we'll find out in December.

Wait, does just Rock Band 2 (not SE) come out in December?

Rock Band 2 for the Wii comes out in December. It already came out for everything else.

Re: Rock Band(s) for the Wii
Ok, so I was talking to somebody, and they said that to play more than one instrument at a time, you've got to have the same amount of Wii-Motes as you do instruments. Is this true? I guess I would see why you would, if all of the instruments are wireless, but it still means I have to buy 3 more Wii-Motes

Re: Rock Band(s) for the Wii
That's for GHWT not RB2. Rock Band uses a different method for their controllers than guitar hero. But you don't need 4 wii motes for a full band, just atleast one for mic.

Re: Rock Band(s) for the Wii
Oh thank goodness... Even if it turns out that Rock Band isn't as good as GHWT, at least I don't need to buy 3 more Wii-motes
Thanks again, Target!
