You have to add a light.
Look a the "Everything you need Thread" in the Mapping part.
Or download Fierfeks Mappingtutorial

Re: How to add shadows
^ Shadow regions are meant to change the lighting under them and prevent shadows from casting.

Re: How to add shadows
Well I am trying to convert Rhen Var: Citadel and the shadows are directly under the unit. Is there a way that I can edit that to make it look like the Corusant shadows?

Re: How to add shadows
Increase the angle of your directional lighting, perhaps? The greater the angle, the more stretched out your shadows will be.

Re: How to add shadows
You shouldn't really have to use ANY coding to change the direction of a light. Just click on the light you have already, and rotate it. Simple.

Re: How to add shadows
click on your light, and press and hold the "x" key, use you mouse buttons to spin it to whatever direction you want.
I do not think this needs to be spelled out anymore than that.

Re: How to add shadows
This to me seems like your light is allready there. First you have to do what everyone else has been saying, re-angle your light. You could do that or just delete that light and go again. If you do that this is what you need to do.
First you might want to make a hill in your map if you don't allready have one so that you can test your light and shadows.
1) Open the light tab in ZE.
2) On the left side panel set the lighting type to DIR, and select cast shadows.
3) Now place your light anywhere you want on your map and name it whatever you want.
4) Now angle your light on a good downward angle, for me 45 degrees is the best, but it's totaly up to you.
5) Then on the right side panel under Directional Light 1 Name: , enter the name of your light.
Now you should have character shadows with your map.
If you placed that hill or if you already had one, you should see some shadows coming from your hill. These are what I call terrain shadows. If you like these and want them in your map, this is what you have to do.
Assuming that you have done all the steps above, you now have to click on the Image button at the top right of your ZE window. From here there are two functions. The first is Burn Terrain which is what we are going to use. The other one is a good tool to use if your making a mini map. Anyways, click on Burn Terrain, let it do its work and then your done!

What do you think?
With questions like that, you should pick the most obvious answer, test, and if it doesn't work just choose the other option.
