Yay Mass Effect.
EDIT - Y'know, there might be a semisloppy way to get ammo powers of a sort working in BF2 via lua. Probably not worth it, though.

I know, right? It's just too bad cryo and incendiary ammo are like impossible to replicate, but still.

What do you mean? Explain.

You can have a dummy weapon turret dispenser (these are good for detection via lua). When you dispense the turret, lua kills the turret and cycles a variable through different values, displaying a message to show which value it's currently set to (for example, "Warp Ammo enabled"). When something is damaged with a weapon, lua checks to see what weapon did the damage and what type of unit the target was, and does extra damage if needed.

Not impossible, you could have a gun the freezes you when it hits you, and a gun that shoots bullets that ignite you on contact.

Oh, well I know how to do the damaging and such, but the hard part is the effects, especially freezing.
Wait, I see what you're saying. Yeah, that would be cool, but it's probably not worth it like you said.
THEWULFMAN wrote:Not impossible, you could have a gun the freezes you when it hits you...
I've thought and thought but I am unable to figure out how you would replicate the freezing effects, visual and physical.

See
this thread.
I already have the constant damaging thing working; the visual effect, however, is the debuff_poison, and it simply refuses to change from that to flames.

I thought someone got the effect to change. I don't see any reason to call it impossible, certainly. Good luck with it.

you made a realy nice job, the only bug i have seen is, that the droid-jet-trooper haven´t any localization (the weapons from this unit, too).

The Jet Trooper Droid has localization! Provide a screenshot, please.
Also, did you watch the
trailer?

In my opinion, I would make a seperate era for the Custom GCW and add in real GCW. That ruins some of the gameplay for me. Nice job though.

Hope that wasn't confusing.
And are you gonna add in that snow mode? That would be fun.
One more thing that could make this map great are more modes, such as 2-Flag CTF, Assault, or maybe even Hunt.
That could make the map better, otherwise...

Here is an alternative

Recently I've been thinking about adding in normal GCW alongside ECW; I think I'll do it.
modmaster13 wrote:And are you gonna add in that snow mode? That would be fun.
I'll add in the snow mode, yes, but being unfinished, don't count on it being released with this map.

The only mode that I am positive about adding in is my secret mode. Other than that, Hunt is a maybe and CTF is simply too difficult to add, according to the little I've read about it.

they arent translated carefully enough and the actors are never as good as the english ones, generally speaking.
maybe the fact that its not in ones motherlanguage that makes it sound better...
aynway, your german isnt bad for a start! and thanks for the videomirror, 1:04 is just hilarious..one guy rolling away from the nade and the other one runnding backwards right into it.

The droids sound hilarious! And yeah.

Danke! Ich lerne Deutsch 2.

Yes, that bit was intentional. That was not a coincidence whatsoever.
EDIT:
modmaster13: Actually, I'll just do as I originally planned:
Summer Variation:
Clone Wars:
CIS
Galactic Republic
Extended Civil War:
Galactic Empire
Death Watch
Blizzard Variation:
The Clone Wars Era by THEWULFMAN:
CIS
Republic
Galactic Civil War:
Rebel Alliance
Galactic Empire

CTF is simply too difficult to add, according to the little I've read about it.
What? Once you do it right the first time, you'll be doing it over and over. If you don't know how to add it, I would make a test map w/ CTF, go look at the scripts, and observe the setup in ZE. Once you do that, I guarantee it will be very easy.

Yours crashed? Wierd, when I got Marksman, I tryed to change to pistol then back to sniper, but it wouldn't allow me to change back to sniper.

This was fixed in v0.9b of the beta.
The latest beta release has been sent to the testers.

Some units and some weapons are missing localization:
About the map I enjoyed playing it, and I didn't find any floating objects(at least not yet). Now I'll play it some more and see if I find any otehr bugs.

I am not sure if it was a fluke, but the first (and only time) I have played GCW it has crashed. I will have to find some time to test some more.

I have not yet added localization for non-English languages. This will probably be one of the last things I do before I release the map.

Yeah, GCW tends to crash every now and then. If it does, the solution is easy: reload the map.
