Kashyyyk: Kachiro EARLY ALPHA release

As the topic states, this map is far from finished. There are three reasons why I'm releasing it in this form:

-Lag testing. There's a lot of units and vehicles in this version of the map, and I would like to know if it's too much for your systems (cause pathing will likely spread the battle out, which will require me to up the unit count some more)
-I would very much appriciate and benefit from feedback - this includes sides, heroes, the map, gamemodes, gameplay, the feel in general, etc. Tell me what you think, what you want to see in there, what you want me to change, etc. this is better to ask earlier rather than later anyways :)
-I haven't worked on this a bunch, and I want to keep this project alive, even though my time is constricted

THINGS I PLAN ON DOING FOR NEXT/FINAL RELEASE:

-Expand Conquest mode and get rid of BLEEDING!
-Hunt mode(s) - Clones vs Wookies, Yoda as hero
-New heroes (Tarful, Commander Gree, etc. - any ideas for CIS heroes are MORE than welcome, cause I'm at a loss)
-CTF modes hopefully involving network of tree platforms (which will be expanded big time if I have the time)
-Hopefully replace the AT - TEs with a Tripod walker (if someone models it for me)

KNOWN BUGS

-The trees. Need someone to model the Kashyyyk tree in the assets to 2x its normal size, otherwise they'll keep turning invisible at certain angles.
-The EMP Grenade Launcher's regular fire (as opposed to charged shot) doesn't work, but I plan on having it stick to droids :D

So here you are, and I hope you enjoy! Oh, here are some screenies by the way:

Looks great Jango'. I'll download as soon as possible.

When I saw this screenshot, I noticed that you gave the Wookie Warrior a Chaingun. That seems a little... Wierd to me. Why don't you model a spear or something? That would really be great. Of course, it's only a suggestion, remember that, but if you intend to do it, you might also want to change the Wookie Rocketeer to a Republic Rocket Trooper or something like that, instead. :)

ok, here's a thing that was a little annoying: LAG! you should put down the unit count on the battle field since it lagged me to death(this will NOT be good online).

else than that you might want to get some sounds for vehicles too, as well as put in a jet trooper in place of the gree(make gree commander instead ;) ).

else than that i can't actually think of anything else than the things you have already listed yourself, overall a good map(and this is the ALPHA release :o !!!! ), keep up the good work, try to fix the things listed, and this will PW3N! good work!

Oh, finally an acceptable Kashyyyk map.

Just some suggestions:
Why is there only single trench object ? More trenches (with bots truly using them ) would be better.
I think it would be good if you turned the venator around so there can be vehicles coming out of the hangar racing towards the beach.

A little question: Is there any way to play this with default sides or felucia sides ? It's because I'd like to play the TEC mod on this map.

My advice: Add the AT-RT into the map as well.

I didn't get any lag at all, even with highest settings, but I did get a bunch of missing effects. Try turning up the memory pools (use the BF2 log) to make the effects show.

All in all it's a great map! You played plenty of attention to detail, and it resembles the movie a lot. Another suggestion though is to remove the fog, as in the movie it's a perfectly clear day.

I know, it's really annoying, but the ones that need uping for that reason can't be manually changed for some reason :x

I know, I meant to lessen the fog before the release, but I never got around to it. There is a LITTLE once the battle starts, but only at the beach level. I just want it because it obscures some of the hills a little bit. I'll definately tone it down though.

I've been through a lot of brainstorms with the sides for the mode with lots of troops. I'm actually leaning toward just plain taking out the heavy class and maybe even the sniper, and just having regular soldier, technician, and a special class that needs to be unlocked, then heroes (which will NOT be default). Tell me what you all think of this (obviously the sides for other gamemodes will be different).

Love the responses! Keep em coming!

OK, what patch do you have? can you give me a list of the names of each file in the file folder? and can you give me the size of the 2 side files you have in the side folder? that could be useful. thank you.

Im trying to get the download page to load... From the screenshots it looks fairly epic and may be the first awesome kasyyyk map ever. Also, though the wookie hero needs a couple of better weps than chewie normally does... keep chewies spees and jump. I've been using that to jump onto different vehicles and place bombs on them for a while, right outta the movie
