Mysterious Crash [Solved]

Okay, you might have heard it already, but my cis side keeps crashing after a few seconds (it's enough time to run rom the shield generator to the edge of the shield).
I removed every unit, one by one to see which one causes the problem, but even with every single one removed it keeps crashing. I even used the stock cis side, same result. :(
I can't say what's wrong, the cis is even using fewer units than the rep, and I have no problems with rep.

I have a few things, but nothing that would cause a crash on only one side.

I don't think the shield generator is a problem, why would just the cis crash then?

well i found these five, im thinking its the ones about the turret, because if the units dont crash it, but the turrets are on the cis side, and the units enter the turrets, it might crash, if they are auto turrets, im not sure.

Hm, I can enter and use the turret (which is my proton cannon) and use it just fine, it is static, yes, but spinning around would look goofy too.

The cp7 thingy is fixed by now, but it didn't change anything.

Remove those turrets and place them as props ( if they aren't already :? ? )
If they are props , remove them to see if that fixed it :wink: .

A few things.
Are you using custom sides? If so have you tried running the map just using stock sides?

Have you performed a clean (manual or otherwise) to see if there is an munge error you may have missed but is perhaps causing the problem.

Also noticed a couple of pcRedtexture errors

Which you may or may or not be able to do anything about as I am assuming is from a custom side but I do find it funny that a bump files is 2 1/2 times as big as the regular texture file especially since it should be monochrome. But that is just me.

The problem sounds like it is on the rep side. If it crashes when you are playing as cis but not rep, then a rep unit has a problem and it crashes when an AI spawns as it.

These do not cause errors. Its just the system saying they are bigger than the designer wanted them to be. It was to help keep trhe games file size down. It happens when you are useing HD skins.

I am aware of that, I was more pointing the wierd size of a bump file.

Will look into it.

No, yesterday I followed Lephenix' advice and reinstalled the game, but didn't had enough time to get it fully working again (can't find the binkw32.dll when I try to run it, and launching via the safe mode tells me I need to put in the right CD.
I did try some cleaning a few times tho, didn't help anything.

As little I believed this to be true, it was. I had one unit, Boil to be exact, be only once at the battlefield at the same time, and I messed up the weaponsections, so i had Section 1, 2 and 4
So for the human player it was like when switching from the rfle to the pistol it worked, but back didn't, you were stuck with the pistol. But the AI forces it to change to section 3 or something like that, doesn't find it and crashes.

Thanks to Firefang, this is now SOLVED. :thumbs:
