A small update:
I think these maps need mini maps so just look here
Mini-maps:
If you want space ships in your space map then it's no problem.
I've cut all capital ships out for you from the game.

i have been wtching this post from the beggining and im wonderning if the sky from space should math tehe terrain on the ground, the hoth planet when in space looks great, but naboo in space is all blue its should look a little like Earth. Oh and if there is a spot to beta i would gladly like to take the spot. Good luck with the map

Well, DarthD.U.C.K. just quoted me but nevermind. If Redline wants beta testers he will say so but so far he hasn't even mentioned it, so people shouldn't really ask until he offers. It's just not cricket!

You should put in a turrent controll thing in each capital ship that can fire at ground forces! That would be really epic!

Similar to the orbital strike cannons in Elite Squadron. Really powerful but have a long (15-30 seconds) cooldown time.

just an idea, but maybe you could modle some interiors and make a reactor core that, like elite squadron, when you destroy the capital ship its in. and you could have that orbital strike cannon i mentioned. just an idea though.

Genosis: Obital Strike
I see you talking about obital strike and i didn't forget the obital strike weapon. I'm still working and fixing at the turret.

I've already made an idea like destroying the reactor core, but I made the Titan out BF2142 with less polygon. I was so close to finish it.

I've never said it before - primarily because I don't like to encourage overscoped maps like this - but I think that what you're doing with the Bespin-Platforms-type map is the way to go for an ideal infantry/space hybrid map. Getting rid of terrain is key.
And I think it looks pretty good - you've pretty much nailed the look, which is a big part of the battle.

However - and not to be
too discouraging - you've got an uphill battle to climb to convince me that you're going to make the map flow well. Without a lot of AI scripting - enough to make the AI transition from role-to-role-to-role - I think that all you'll see is a lot of AI milling around in the air, while the map turns into a playground for the human players to experiment.
I won't go so far as to say that I don't think it can be done, but I don't think it can be done well. Not yet.
