Mary Jo Kopechne would say otherwise, for he was directly responsible for her death.
While she was riding with him (after he had drunk Rum, Coke, and Heineken), he drove his Oldsmobile Delmont off a bridge into a pond and swam to safety, leaving her to die. He didn't report it to the police either.
And the worst part? His sentence was revoked and he didn't spend a second in jail after he plead guilty.
Some of that bears distinct bias and some are tenuous accusations. It's unnecessary and unwarranted to post something like that when someone dies - they can't do any more for good or ill on Earth and judgment isn't in our hands anymore. Try and be polite and respectful. -Staff

Finally! Someone talks about 9/11 without me bringing it up!
My gosh, I went through the whole day yesterday not hearing ANYONE bring up 9/11 without me talking about it. And I only talked about it on a Facebook status.
Usually my school acknowledges it by having a moment of silence in class or something, but, nope. This year-nothing.
May all 9/11 victims R.I.P.
And may Kevin Cosgrove and his family have my condolences. He gave us a 911 call to record that gives us an idea of what it was like in one of the towers...All the way to the end, the collapsing.
A disturbing 911 call indeed.
I watched it on YouTube.
Sad and disturbing 9/11 call
Mods, sorry if you're not ok with posting the video.

When I first watched the video, I knew at the end the tower would fall. What I didn't predict-How he screams "OH GOD! OH G--" *crash* It made my shoulders stiffen.

Chilling. Absolutely chilling. Just how it...cut out like that. It was such a waste of life, that day, so many innocent people just halted in their tracks.
I really have to hand it to that operator though, she really did her job well, knowing what was probably going to happen.
And please, for your own good, don't listen if you're easily disturbed, you hear someone die at the end. I will leave the link up, as it would be disrespectful to censor it, but please, only listen if you really want to know what that moment was like.

9/11 is the worst thing that has happened to America. It sends chills down my spine whenever I see the collapse re-played. R.I.P. the 3,000 some innocent workers/rescuers in the Twin Towers. Let us never forget. It was even more cold-blooded that Pearl Harbor was.

I guess I would do well to at least mention this occurrence.
Some deranged individuals thought it was a good idea to open a fireworks store in the middle of a residential area, in the city of Santo André in my country, they didn't take the necessary precautions and the inevitable happened: someone made a mistake. There was an explosion. Numbers are fluctuating right now, but at least two have died, many others were injured and some residences were completely destroyed.
May they rest in peace.
