PROS
- More TFU goodness. I don't care what people say -- it's not that they thought the game sucked, it's that their expectations were that this'd be a 10/10 game. It's not, and it never will be. But it was a blast playing again. TFU has the right amount of platforming, lightsaber combat and over-the-top force powers to keep things fun, and Hoth was no exception.
- Continuation of the alternate storyline. It was fun to see Lucasarts' "what if" scenario conclude. I hope they go ahead and continue the idea with TFU2 DLC.
- Hoth itself -- I haven't seen or played a Star Wars game that's done it better. There were a few "big screen" moments that just felt really cool. It was a fun trip.
- The big duel. There's actually three separate parts to the fight. I won't spoil anything for those who haven't played it, but it's one of the better duels in the game.
- Playing the other side - It was great to turn the perspective of Hoth around to the Imperials. It added something fresh and new.
- It's short. Like 45 minutes maximum short. That was disappointing. It's not like you can make Hoth an incredibly long level, but even adding something like a longer intro with a holo transmission from the Emperor to Starkiller would have added a lot and made it feel more worth the dough.
- No achievements/trophies. I'm not an achievement junkie per say, but if I'm going to shell out ten bucks I expect to be rewarded for finding secret areas, taking out Rebels, etc.
- Luke's voice actor. Holy cow - this guy is awful. He didn't sound like Luke, nor was he believable.
- The face on Luke's model. It just didn't come across as Luke. It seemed like another Rebel pilot with a Luke wig on. But there aren't tons of close-ups, so it's not a big deal.
- The price. This was $7.50 (600 MSP) DLC at best. Ten bucks was a bit much.
- No extra Starkiller outfits. Yeah, I don't normally use any outfits that aren't actually Starkiller himself, but some Snowtrooper/Rebel Trooper/Rebel Pilots/even the Luke model would have made a nice bonus.
Lots of fun - but it was too short and didn't have any achievements. For those of you on the fence about buying it, wait until (and if) the DLC goes on sale, or do without. If we had some other bonuses like achievements and extra Starkiller costumes I'd recommend it for everyone, but it's just not worth the money unless you love TFU.
