Yeah I wanted it to get out in time to save BF2's online play, but I must face the fact that it's already dead
Any ideas as to why this is? The users and servers situation online is always pretty bleak whenever I look online. Im almost never on there due to the fact I'm more inclined to play Battlefied 2 which has a massive server and user list. With SWBF1 there were lots of clan servers so you could almost guarantee several servers with lots of people. F.A.R.T Clan's server was full of "nooby" 11 year olds but even that' better than the barren waste of empty servers for SWBF2. Interest in the game must be at an all time low and there'll never be an SWBF3 because of this. Hopefull the pack will rekindle peoples interest in the game so a high quality, as near completion as possible release of the pack is needed. Is this intended to be one of the first files to be hosted locally on the new GT server?

Off-topic : (GT)superfobio, if you had read all messages posted prior to yours, you would have guessed that their respective authors have tried to share opinions and advices which might satisfy all users of the concerned Star Wars Battlefront II levels, no matter if you have possible interests in getting them whereas they're still in "BETA" stage...

Just one thing, put some lighting in there. Without the lighting effects, things just look sterile.

Please release today the completed maps. Then we have fun ;) and you have enough time with the other maps. You can send them with an update.
Why we should wait until all maps at 95%? WHY?
15 User are for releasing at 95%. But 17 are against this.
I want to play NOW the maps!!! :D

Okay, I'll be postponing the maps until they are done. I will say that 3 are done 100%, and that the rest are around 90% or higher, so hopefully it won't take very long.

Off-topic : xwingguy, could you provide us a few additional details regarding the comment you made in your last message, please ? Indeed, I would like to make sure you were talking about the "Environment Lighting" of the Star Wars Battlefront II levels gathered inside this "Star Wars Battlefront Conversion Pack", and not of the "Glow Effect" supposed to be applied on specific objects contained in some of the concerned maps...

i would just like to take the time to say thankyou for putting so much time into these maps, they will be the reason i stop playing battlefield2 nonstop and start playing star wars battlefront2. And i no many people who will get off of SWBF1 and get on SWBF2 w/ the map-pack. Even so i think its worth waiting for because if it is released too early then it might scare the SWBF1 ppl back in2 their hole...

He's got a big point there. This keeps the game 'new'. I really hope people will start playing the mods online, I will practically every day.

When i host servers i normally do it as "GametoastNewMaps"
giving credit where credit is due ;)
however when i do this its very hard to find that special delicate balance:
1) put too many mod maps on and the chances increase substantially that no one will join, sure the server is fun but ur by urself
2) put too few mod maps on and some people will join but leave soon thereafter when they get bored with a three map rotation

such is the problems with hosting mod maps.....

Yeah plus if someone misses 1 map they can't join ? Hopefully this will be solved witht the mappack as more people will have the maps needed then you can put the maps frm the mappack. However it's strange I never see your server. What times are you hosting it ? 'Cause we probably have big 'time difference'. I think lots of people here (like myself) are playing the modded maps with friends on a non public server, the trick is getting all those people on the same server. Hopefully the mappack can help with this.

Off-topic : ~FL~DeathBringer7, I would like to thank you for having registered on GameToast Forums and for having posted such a message, which is really one of the most valuable Arguments ever added to this thread...
Indeed, Star Wars Battlefront levels ported to this LucasArts video-game's sequel should keep the same "Professional" aspect - Which is characteristic of all maps designed by Pandemic Studios - in order to make Star Wars Battlefront II even more attractive to play...

yea im really hoping the new mappack will stabalize things dramatically
in the past week or so i havent been host much mainly beacuse the playing community has gotten so small the only way ppl join is if its a one map server
once the mappaack comes out ill start hosting again

P.S.- ive been thinking of starting a (+)GTM(+) clan (Gametoast Mods), where we wouldnt just have the mappack but also include the incredible betas that have been released.
There would be a site listing all the maps and versions our clan is currently running. This way non-clan members could join our mod maps servers as well. And to streamline it further, the map list would be updated just once a week, and only once a week, to avoid confusion. i think this is a good solution for all the confusion in regard to mod maps currently and i would be willing to start this clan if some people wanted to join up with me and start it out, if u want to reach me either PM me or xfire me, my Xfire is yoyam

Leviathan wrote:Well, in my opinion, I think that awaiting for the full completion of the concerned Star Wars Battlefront II levels - Instead of releasing all of them, no matter if they're entirely functional - is the best decision you can actually make, Teancum...
Indeed, I guess that many Feedbacks will be submitted to the respective Authors of the levels contained inside this "Star Wars Battlefront Conversion Pack" through GameToast Forums, which might lead to annoying consequences...
Thus, you will probably understand why I prefer avoiding a similar situation by limiting the amount of factors which might favour it...
You abuse html.
j/k, but yes, he is right. ALthough i would like to have a version with maps that i can just mess around with and have glitches. But thats just me, finding glitches is fun for me.

Well MrBigglesWurth -- All of the maps are available in the Released Maps forum, but the final versions will have glitch protection. If you try to wall glitch you will die instantly. So have fun while you can.

Well, thats fine. There wont be many glitches left anyway. And then there's good ol' mos eisly to look for glitches. My friend found like 30 there. But big citys arent easy to do, with all the buildings. Wall glitches can be not found and created easily. Im suprised there wasnt even more, but I guess i underestimated the people at pandemic.

I used to hate glitchers, but now I get lots of free kills in hero assault. I just play as Han, place a detpack over a glitch, then when someone playing as Yoda comes along and tries to get in... BOOOM!!!. And I laugh :P

even tho i think we should wait i think you should keep us poasted on what percent done you think the maps are just so we have an idea as to when this will come out. i no quite a few ppl in our clan who play SWBF2 will b watching this map pack, espicaly ppl who didnt have SWBF1. i would appricate it if you would post another update to how close you guys are. again thankyou to all the ppl involved in this for taking time out of their busy schedule to make this map pack. im sure it will b worth the wait.
-edit- great idea teancum, now i HAVE 2 try that
