How do you set up tunnels?

I don't understand how one would set up a tunnel.

for my tunnel, I'm using end_bldg_bunker_corridor.

How would I set it up so that there would be an opening at the bottem of the hill and an opening at the top?

These openings in terrain are made by objects called terraincutters. They are objects that eliminate the terrain in the area in which they touch the terrain. See any world file with a cave or cavern to see them being implemented in the game. There is also a terraincutter pack in the released assets if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, there is, but that link is broken. However, there is one really nice tunnel starter. It's in the Yavin folder. I think it's the arena tunnel. There are also FragMe!'s sewer assets, which are very helpful. They can be found in the assets thread.

but when I move the terrain around the yavin arena tunnel, I cant get the entrance exactly right and theres always an open space. Is there anyway to make a flat drop off of terrain?

Is the little button that says "Grid" on? if so, disable it to get better control.

Any tunnel in a BF1 or BF2 level is a tunnel you can use in your map; I think the yavin tunnels would be good though...

The grid button is in the objects tab to the left of the screen.

You could always add walls in the empty space. That's what I do.

Then move the objects until they fit correctly, there's more that we can do to help you with that.

EDIT: is there anyway to make the terrain drop off at a 90 degree angle? it would help with the tunnels haha

Unfortunately, no. The closest you can get is to have an extremely high area of terrain adjacent to an extremely low area of terrain, but that's rarely practical (not to mention it stretches the terrain texture like crazy).

yeah I did that, and made more area around it near the same height and disguised it as a mountain (my maps outside, so it actually works in nicely :D)
