Do you have any mods installed for Star Wars Battlefront II?

If you do, it can sometimes mess up some custom maps and you won't be able to play them with out the original sides.

Maybe you should try replacing your sides in the "SIDE" folder with the originals in case you have a mod installed and forgot.

 ugh, i'm sorry, but the same goes for me. Before mod maps i polluted the games data files with so many mods that i don't even know if the DATA files I have know are original. Plus, I was arrogant and thought it a waste to make backups (yes i know, tsk tsk  ). If it's not too much, could someone upload the original core/mission.lvl files, and maybe the original DATA side files? Oh and, I remember zerted released a shell.lvl, which provides support for gamemodes in the mappack, but did he release an INSHELL?

Either that or I'll reinstall and DL the mappack and this :D , again.

EDIT: I'm just reinstalling, don't bother trying to upload anything it's okay.

Just got done playing and Ive got to say it was amazing. The ride in the transport was really cool. The Wookies are really tough. And I cannot find the keycard for the skiff.

Your hunter rifle is your best friend. Ignore the blaster.

For anyone with trouble on the conquest part of the map, pay careful attention to the capturing of command posts and how that works.

I was shot by a thief who proceeded to run into the water where I couldn't shoot him and killed me. :( Since when do bots exploit that? I love it so far, archer!

I get the crash-at-the-loading-screen thing too. I have a feeling it's something to do with the BF1 conversion pack... maps start crashing when I have that installed. I'll give you an update in a bit.

Edit: Nope, still crashes when I uninstalled the conversion pack.

To Rekubot and Blasphemy-

You have too many mod maps in your addon folder. The max is 58, and what you're describing is EXACTLY what happens when you've got too many map there.

And dangit archer, you had to release this after BF2 broke for me, didn't you? :P Now I really gotta get the CD working again...

It crashed for me too, so I ran the Modtools.exe and got these severity 3's:
Message Severity: 3
.\Source\LuaCallbacks_Mission.cpp(866)
Lua ReadDataFile: Could not open dc:SIDE\removeAward.lvl

Message Severity: 3
.\Source\LuaCallbacks_Mission.cpp(866)

I'm going to try to download .60, then use the .61 patch, to see if that works.

Woot! it works now. the .61 full install doesn't have the SIDE folder, that's why it crashes.

Say what???! That's the central level file... If the game can't find that, of course it would crash! There would be no terrain, sky, objects, etc... It would seem the game isn't accessing the downloaded content directory correctly. I don't see why it wouldn't, unless the v0.61 files were corrupted for some reason. I'll download the archive myself and see if it works.

Archer, I'm glad you used my dialogue in the game.

Also, I looked at the file structure, and all of those .lvls are not there for the .61 full install. :? even OFM.lvl wasn't there.

oh well, I got it working now, so it's ok.

I'm glad you got it working Hebes24. So where did you finally find the lvls? Did you download v0.6 like you said you were going to, or were the files there from v0.61 but just not in the correct directories? I downloaded the v0.61 full install from filefront, and tested the archive myself. Everything extracted/ran fine at my end; which is unfortunate, because if I can't duplicate the problem, I have no starting point to begin to try and fix it.

Pereza0, you had a problem but it went away when you turned the lighting setting down? I'm not sure why that would be, but if I had to guess, I would say it's because of the water. The only other map I've seen, this size or larger, with this much water is Kamino. But Kamino had EnableOcean(1) activated which might do something special in that regard (or might not, I don't know). Does anyone know what EnableOcean() actually does? I haven't played around with the water settings in this game much, so that area is a little foggy on my part.

@Everyone who is having trouble running the map:

In the interest of tracking down the possible causes of problems (and ways to fix them), I'm going to ask that people try some of the solutions that have been successful for others and post here which one worked for you (if none help, post that too). Thanks!

Here's a list so far:

1- Change the lighting settings in the options menu to a lower setting.

2- Made sure all the files are where they are supposed to be (the OFM folder is in the game's addon directory of course):

\OFM\addme.script

\OFM\data\_LVL_PC\mission.lvl
\OFM\data\_LVL_PC\core.lvl

\OFM\data\_LVL_PC\Load\storyload.lvl

\OFM\data\_LVL_PC\OFM\OFM.lvl

\OFM\data\_LVL_PC\SIDE\ofm1.lvl
\OFM\data\_LVL_PC\SIDE\ofmTexture.lvl
\OFM\data\_LVL_PC\SIDE\removeAward.lvl
\OFM\data\_LVL_PC\SIDE\mastersaitek009.lvl

Yeah, I got .6 then used the .61 patch.

I have to play it later though, I have an essay to write (ugh!! :( ), Luckily, it was an early release day at my school, so I have the whole afternoon. :)

archer01 Yes, it crashed to me before, when the game started. I lowed the lighthing settings and it worked. Then (i dont know why i did this) I paused the game and turned again to the maximum.
My game crashed before exiting the menu.
