I was under the impression that you could do that so long as the pathing for the interiors of the capital ships weren't overlapping the pathing on the ground/other ships.

Of course, if I am somehow wrong, don't hesitate to jump on my case.

I have no knowledge in this area thus, I am posting on here. Would it be possible to make the Sand-crawler (model in "Tatooine: Dune Sea") as a drivable vehicle? Just one of my buddies ideas.

That has already been done by Fragme!: Moving/drivable Sandcrawler (download link is dead though)

EDIT: Link is actually not dead it seems, my false assumption.

I've been thinking about trying to make a "In to the Second Death Star Interior" space map. Really, I don't think there will be a whole lot of objects to model. I am thinking that it would look all right if I just had one model for a straight "tunnel" section, and a corner, and a couple of rooms. I could probably do almost, if not all the modeling myself, but if anyone feels like helping they could.

Anyways, I think a Pearl Harbor type map, but in space would be sort of cool. Either be an Imperial or Rebel shipyard (I'd prefer an Imperial Shipyard like over Kuat or something) and the enemy attacks by waves of heavy fighters and bombers and catches the Imperials/Rebels by surprise. For the defending side that got caught by surprise, maybe they can have like one effort to turn the tide back against the other side. Heh. I've always found Star Wars maps that could somewhat be based on World History would be fun.
really if you think about it, star wars is kind of based of history. (ex: storm troopers were nazis in WWII and they are used to represent fear throughout a recently Conquered (galaxy/land))

(ex2: the clone wars are slightly like the US's civil war. (one side seperates because of supposed mistreatment and such, than both sides start vying for the alliegence of the other (states/planets) than the original (non seperatist) side wins)

EDIT: also sorry for the dragged up topic!

Storm troopers were originally the clones, bread for battle. Nazi's were some pissed off Germans that wanted back in on world politics, and would to anything to get there.

That would be how almost every organized civil war goes down. A better example would be the english East India Trade Co. and how a company that was founded for commerce gained military control over vast areas in order to increase profit, and in turn political power.

Without going too far off-topic, at the very least the names have some pretty heavy U.S. Civil War influences. Both the (SW) Republic and the Union had a G.A.R. (Grand Army of the Republic), and the CSA (Confederate States of America) and CIS (Confederacy of Independent States) have similar names.

but what im saying about Stormtroopers being nazis is actually that a class of NAZI soldiers were called Sturmtruppen which Allied soldiers took as Storm Trooper (which i think George Lucas might have gotten the name from seeing how they and the nazis represented fear)

EDIT: Also, George Lucas wasnt from india now was he? and he was still in school (I believe) when he wrote his novels, so why would the india thing have anything to do with his novel? i doubt he was learning about it at the time. Most of the time you learn about the American Civil War earlier (middle school) and later on in school (high school-college) so if i had to place my money about a civil war that influenced him, i would put my bet down on the American one.

he wasnt in school when he wrote starwars and why shouldnt the east indian trade co. influenced him just because he wasnt from india 0.o?

1. he wrote a screenplay not a novel.
2. the characteristics and reasons behind the the american civil war dont match up as well as other conflicts. and mav, the names are kinda standard....but i see where you are coming from.

I had an Idea of adding a New Republic era. :D

You could do one that pits new rebublic troopers against reskined Yuvung Vong. Useing the hero unit in the con version pack as a template, you could make new troops that use the hero as a model, A trooper, heavy, sniperr, engineer and special would be compulsery, but why not add a warmaster, assassing, and, I don't know, a jedi Hunter?

If you find a corosant street map, and add lots of plants and flowers to it, you could make a corousant - Terraformed map, and start an new era.

Hero units could be the solo twins, anikan solo, mara jade and others?

Well good luck.

It would be great to see a TOR map/mod seeing that there is enough refs out there for modders.

And no I'm not talking about KotOR.

Wow, good model of darth malgus. Anyway, it would be cool to do a Mon Calamari or a Csilla map.(Csilla is the homeworld of the Chiss. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Csilla) Maybe a default hoth ground textures for Csilla or somthing. Just an idea of course...

My computor just recently got fried. Everything is destroyed, reduced to datatoms ( My own word: Data, and Atoms)

Gimp, my maps, my mods, weapons..., Skins... all obliterated. And because I never released them, they are all gone... forever.

No way you can recover that information with the technology we currently have?
