How to create models in XSI and other 3D applications and make them work in Battlefront 1 & 2. Post models, tips for application usage and share anything XSI, 3DMax, SketchUp, etc.
well i guess since the official star wars wiki says 3 for tri-droid and doesn't say a # for octo droid, i'll go with 3 and if it is too hard to animate, i'll change to 4.
it shouldnt be hard to animate plus 3 legs would look pretty cool, make the first 2 to lead the walker and the 3rd in the back kinda pushing the walker forward.
Well the Droideka has 3 legs, so if there was some way to copy it's skeleton (i highly doubt) then u could use its anims, but i'd guess you might as well make your own based on the droideka's rather than trying to get a hold of the skeleton (plus it probabily wouldn't fit exactly)
no you can only use another models skeleton only if it fits EXACTLY in both size and shape and if you try to scale it and change it then the animations will get really messed up when they play.
Qdin if i need anims your my first choice, texture is just being started, i'm making high res 3d models to render for the texture so it looks "dimensional" minding my only experience in photo was my 9th grade photo class i took this year. So once i'm done i'll post a pic and if it looks that bad someone can take over. For now the scailing of walls will be on the back of my list. thanks.
It's its head, I'm working on doing the middle now, I making high res models and rendering them with global illumination and then
"flattening" them so the result is a nice detailed low poly mesh. Qdin would you like the model now for animation or when the texture is done?
