Tuskenjedi wrote:the rebel trans ports are rebel transports, and thats why they took them to endor. They transport rebels. If this sounds harsh, sorry, but cmon man, its says it the name.
I know its a transporter but they are no use at all it a space battle are they? they didnt take any renforcments down to endor, they cant fight in the battle basically they were just there for no reason it would be like taking a cruise ship into the middle of a naval battle. they couldve just left the transports somewhere rather than endanger them by taking them into a huge battle for no reason...
PS: i hope you get the moveable frigates and pilotable frigates working... am i correct in understanding that the player cotrolled ones never move unless a player is flying it and the ones that move on their own arent pilotable, also will the turbo lasers be mannable?

Hey guys, I've been watching this map for a while now and just wanted to say keep up the good work xwingguy.
off-topic: I believe the rebel transport is armed, but only with light anti-figther lasers.

Off topic- Oh and so they do have laser cannons! perhaps they were just used as small gun platforms to protect the capital ships...
On topic: will the frigates have small interiors or will they just be "remote controled"?

Also, it would probably be even more dangerous to leave the transports behind. The Empire knew where their fleet was massing (Vader mentioned the location to the Emperor) so they would probably be more vulnerable to Imperial attack when they are by themselves than when there are other ships to help keep them safe. Not to mention that the reinforcements they contained could assist in boarding attempts (not sure if that could be implemented in this map though)

If I do implement flyable frigates, they'll just be remote controlled. Because nonstatic objects like infantry and important stuff like regions are never affected by animations, a moving object with an interior is impossible.

lol i can just imagine a whole squad of rebel marines being thrown to the back of a corvette and no being able to move.... it would be horrible they may even die or fall out of the mesh.... just tested what happens when you try riding on top of a ship in space, it explodes! that may happen to the frigates too so i can understand why it isnt being implemented.
will the frigates fire automatically at enemy ship or will they somehow be mannable? if you wanted them mannable you could just put a turret control console inside a capital ships bridge but it contols a turret on a frigate.

True... but, what if the corvettes have greater firepower (the
actual number of turrets that
should be on this craft is about 2 turbolasers, 4 laser cannons)

hey xwingguy! thx for using my idea on the rebel commandos, im really glad you liked it, im flattered, im looking forward to see 'em on your amazing map!!
 IDEA!
on space maps there are these animations of stardestroyers and confederacy cruisers (on the cw era) moving around on the back of the map, just filling the unused space giving the "crowded" feeling to the battle, and i was thinking... that would be an easy way to add the second death star! imagine it.. just standing there, or moving around or shooting some mini rebel cruisers, and them exploding and dessapearing. just a thought..
although i think youve already figured how to include it... cuz you have, right? lol

Making the Death Star is hard and making it move around the map is way harder. Besides its slower than all of the other ships in SWBF2. It would just delay the release.

Nobody's figured out how to do that yet, actually.

Credits...
nice word, but does it mean that it is almost finished?
is there an upcoming release?
not to lay pressure on you though, because you have worked so hard with this map, and the result's are just amazing!
out of watching the latest pics on this site.
can you please tell the aproximate size for this map?
if it's really big, i must set of plenty of time.
off topic(let's see, browser downloading 800mb in 1hour 30 min, expecting slow parts, depending on site downloading from, interrest in file 100% worth waiting for: YES, Browser speed: tweaked to 200% over standard config) i'm ready for the release and i will have it, whatever the cost may be).

I dont think its nearly finished yet but i think its quite a way through, could we have a rough percentage? sort of like 25%, 50%, 75% ect and before i get a million post telling me to stop pressuring him, i am merely asking for a rough progress report.
PS if you need any technical specs or armament specs or anything ask me i have the 1987 Star Wars sourcebook.

you could name enemy units with the names of those who helped you, like the guys who did the Geonosis Offensive map, when you kill certain unkown soldier, it says "you" killed "that guy who helped". lol
you are gonna immortalize many people you know.. this is gonna be legendary, perhaps one of the most ambitious maps ever created, KUDOS to xwingguy!
