Sound from both line in and microphone jack playing

Post by Fluffy_the_ic »

So I have my xbox and my new headset hooked up to my computer, with sound streaming from both. I want to use steam voice chat to talk to my friends, since I can't use an xbox headset while wearing a turtle beach headset. So I have my xbox hooked up to the line in jack on the back of my computer, have the line-in recording device set to listen, and then I have my headset in the microphone jack.
However, no matter how I set this up, on the recording devices menu, my computer shows that the sound from both my headset and Xbox are coming in through Microphone, not the way it should be, where the Xbox's sound should be coming in from line in. So if I try and record anything or talk to anybody, my xbox audio will be recorded along with my microphone. Is there a way to fix this?
