I have started(or restarted) modding. i have a new laptop,so i tried it.
the game runs,maybe a bit slow between launching and displaying loading screens.
I have successfully compiled a map,but when running the game it appeared as

"MOD %S _%S"

or something similar. In-game:loading screen says " [null] " but that made me lol cause it blinked like where it says "Loading"! not much better on selection screen with

[0x0454FF]
INF_WEAP_SOMETHING
[0xmorejunk]
INF_MOREJUNK

Killing some makes it say [NULL] instead of the normal text.

I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the modtools.

I suspect "Localization" isn't working,though I have not changed the language.
i used the set from filefront,so if there is a newer one I would be glad to see it.

Do you have both the 1.1 patch and 1.3 patch successfully installed?

Only the official 1.1 patch is required in this case at the very least.

There could be a problem with the PATH environment variable for munging.

thanks everyone,i did install 1.3,and my DVD came with 1.1.
i did notice my path was a bit...odd.
so i'll check that. some directories might not be copied correctly.

EDIT:same error i had...but i overlooked! all i had to do was fix that,then it worked right away! thank you
