Black Ops- PC or Xbox?

I've been planning to pre order black ops for quite a while now, but I've been having a tough time deciding which console to get it on. I was wondering if anyone had any input or your opinion on this. I put together a list of pros and cons, but they seem pretty evenly matched. Here it is:

PC:
+better graphics
+better internet connection
+modding
-dedicated servers
-more hackers, most likely
-fewer online friends

Xbox:
+better online player base
+no dedicated servers
+hardened edition
+more friends on xbox than pc
-have to spend a while configuring mouse and keyboard
-potentially more lag issues
-akimbo weapons will be odd (left mb controls right weapon and right mb controls left weapon)

Thoughts?

Your Xbox "problems" seem to be mostly on your end, but it's all about personal preferences. I myself have a burning hatred for Treyarch, so I refuse to get Black Ops... but if I did, it'd be for the 360. Because I'll take playing with my good friends via Live over mods. But again, whichever you decide is more worth the trouble.

really, it's just a choice of better multiplayer with slightly worse mouse controls (but aim assist) vs. better mouse controls but dedi servers and modding.

why are dedicated servers bad? if you have hackers on non-dedicated servers, what can you do against them?
on a well-kept dedicated server on pc they will be banned by the admins

I don't think he meant dedicated servers are bad, I read it as dedicated servers are good, but on most PC games you get more hackers than their Xbox counter-parts.

Actually, I dislike dedicated servers, they (imo here) are very annoying and a big hassle to mess with, I like how you can just go play on the 360. Plus you often end up with more hckers, since at least most dedi servers I've been on (at least bfbc2 and cod4) there was no admin, so people hacked a away...

maybe you had bad luck with servers :P . i cant speak for bfbc2 but atleast in cod4 you can find many good servers, especially clan-led ones because neraly always amember is online and bans hackers.

Eh, tried the beta. It was good for a little while but shortly got repetitive and boring. I decided to get the Xbox version, so I guess this topic can be closed, then?

Get the pc version: This is why:
PC-only information
■The PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops will feature dedicated servers.[12]
■Modding tools and the leaning feature will return, though it is likely that the modding tools will come out a bit after the game has been released.
■The PC version will be using Steam as DRM and will be using VAC as an anti-cheating tool.
■Players can choose a server via a server browser screen or use matchmaking to send a lobby to a server chosen by the game.
■Dedicated servers must be rented.
■Unranked servers are completely customizable while ranked ones let the renter choose levels and gametypes.
So you can still get matchmaking, and modding, and steam will work ingame :D

Just soething I wanted to add: in my nearly 600 hours of playing TF2(which uses VAC) I never saw a single (obvious) hacker/cheater.
And the great thing on VAC is that if it bans it bans foreeever on all VAC using games/servers.

Steam fanboy!

Oh, boy. Steam, a reason to pick up the Xbox version. Especially VAC. It bans you from everything forever, and last I checked, MW2 (aka hacker central) uses VAC.

Now you're generalizing without solid evidence.

VAC only bans by engine and it is confirmed that MW2 bans don't carry over to BlackOps. Those that did use hacks and will use again will be banned again. VAC for MW2 failed due to lack of dedicated servers. This is because VAC works better with admins as a first line of defense with instant local bans, then VAC follows up with a engine ban on the account. Single Player and play on non-VAC servers is still possible. A VAC ban in one game does not carry to another game unless they have the exact same engine. A ban in HalfLife2 Deathmatch carries over to CounterStrikeSource, but not to TF2 or L4D for instance. Play TF2 or L4D1/2 on PC, they use VAC and hack users are rare on good servers. I know admins who run TF2 and L4D servers, and there have been times where the admin would drop out of the L4D game he was in to ban a TF2 hack user.

Reading the Valve support pages provides allot of useful information about how Steam services work.

Also contrary to popular belief there are hacks for console games, both hardware and software. Youtube has plenty of examples.
