Ah, finally, my custom Jedi is complete:
I'll probably be using him in some of my future maps.

Hmm, that gives me an idea that I can create my Karag Drakas character from Galaxies.

Hey Schiz, let me know if you want other colors. They take like two seconds. All I do is open up the color in Photoshop, shift the hue this way or that, then save as a different filename. We could even do the silver bladed saber some ancient jedi wielded... (Forget who).

GREAT WORK!
May I have permission to use your orange-sabre for my character?

Hmm? Yeah, sure. Just use the .tga file Tean posted up at the top of the page and simply edit the lightsaber's ODF to call for the "orangesabre" texture.
And, as you can see, I've reskinned my Jedi:

Now he is
truly complete (he looked to old with that other skin anyway... plus, I think the scar on his eye is a nice touch).

yeah, lightsaber recolor is easy

just dont forget to change the trail color as well.
but i'm curious as to what exactly you have in mind for a silver-lightsaber, tean...would it just be like blue-gray, or is there some way to make it actually silvery? i could use a silver lightsaber... <_<

yes its spelled awsome

Actually, it's spelled awesome.
And, Nyax, it's possible to add a silver saber. Though, it'd be more of a grayish color more than an actual silver color. But it's better than nothing.
And yeah, the trail color was the first thing I changed, so that's all taken care of. The only thing I was having trouble with was the alpha channel thing... I don't even know what the heck an alpha channel is.

yeah, alpha channels are like transparency, but i'm still not exactly sure how they work. i know you can save selections in photoshop as alpha's, but beyond that, i haven't had much reason to use them. i had no idea they would actually affect something like lightsabers in a game (until i opened the tga file up, that is). i didn't even realize tga's saved them...
and yeah, i already have a grayish-blue saber that looks sorta silvery, but i was wondering if teancum had some better idea on how to get it to actually look silver.

Sorry for resurrecting an old post, but I tried doing this myself, but never got it to work. Can someone please make me a "silver/whitish" lightsaber?
