To back on topic, I know my models are't very good, but if anyone is interested by getting them for a map/mod, they were already released.

I was bored, so I made this:

It's an old model I finished up, and then textured it. I tried to make it look like it had been through a lot, being shot at and stuff. Not cleaned.

I was looking up some sketchup tips when I found out that if you have sketchup pro you can export .xsi files.

Sadly I used my free trial up long ago. :(

You can do it without Pro, you just have to work around it. There are other formats to export it to.

Here is part of a large-scale model I am making for my map. Cookie for the first person to guess what it is a part of.

It is that way because I need to send through the sections of the sinkhole piece by piece, otherwise the sheer size of it would go past the limit.

But you can have way more than two faces on a model ;)

I make everything in one model so it fits together, then I take it apart.

Also, physical size? There is no limit (at least, I can convert a model of any size). It's the polies that count.

EDIT:

Nice place for some guns.

I'm sure someone will recognize this. I must say I did better than I thought I would using Sketchup 8 + only BF2 textures (aside from the tread, which I took off of an image). Don't mind the logo - I was making a cool logo and it became a watermark.
Hint: It's a vehicle.

Image
Guess what it will be, you are amazing, because even I have no idea what the walker is called. It's from The Old Republic.

Well, the model is done. No textures yet.

The model is done now.

I played Redline's Attack on the DeathStar and when I destroyed a TIE in the trench, I told myself: "I'm sure we can do that in SketchUp".

Not too detailled tough. I plan on adding turrets and finshing the hangar.
