Sounds wont work, please help.

Please don't dismiss this as I haven't tried just by looking at the title. I've tried looking at solved problems I've looked at unsolved problem and looked at the tutorial.
There is nothing that seems to work and its getting frustrating. I am new to the modding life, and this is something I'm looking to do for a while.
I've set this aside a few times to do tweaks on my actual map which is about 40% complete. But it needs sounds for the ATTE for the republic and the walker sounds for the Imperial side.
I've never modded before, ever (unless you count a texture pack for minecraft), so any information with the most details would help.

I've been testing the sounds for the atst in a test world TES-testworld

if I could figure out how to post images I would post my "data_TES\Sound\worlds\tes" folder but its a bit confusing, I'm new to extensive forum use as well.

I do have the edited data files from Marvel4's post here viewtopic.php?f=64&t=30415

when I munge though it wouldn't do sound only so I un-check everything and check "Sound Only" and the "sound" box this is the only way it will munge the sound for what ever reason.
I've even added a copy of the imp_walk_atst.snd into the "data_TES\Sound\worlds\tes" folder as was suggested by someone on another post. but still nothing seems to work.

Right, the instructions say tick "Sound Only", not "Sound" only, there is a difference there.
Follow the instructions exactly as they are posted and you will have sounds, we don't add broken tutorials to the FAQ. :)

There is a reason that I said that. If I check sound only it doesn't do anything with the sound. it just does the map and that's it. that's why AND was there.
I have to click BOTH "sound only" AND "sound" to get sound to munge.
I'm not saying the tutorial is broken. what I am saying is I followed the tutorial exactly as it was and I still have no sound. which could mean something else isn't working right.
That's why I'm posting. for what ever reason its not working. I even tried to do it with copying and pasting the codes for the files even though I have the updated munge files.
That didn't work. also I now have no sound for any imp side vehicle on any munged map.

I don't know if this might have anything to do with it. but it seems I'm missing some texture files for random objects. while looking through the hex files for some of them they have items that aren't found anywhere.
An example is when I loaded up Hoth to see how the trenches were made, I found that the turrets, the enclosed ones I cant remember the name now but not the dish ones, were missing textures around the top part.
there were other things that seemed out of place but I don't know because, like I said, I'm new to this so I don't know what should be and what is normal to not be.
if there are any other files you'd like me to post I can.

1. Launch "Modtools VisualMunge.exe" from data_TES\_BUILD
2. Press "Unselect All"
3. Tick "Sound Only"
4. Click "Munge"

When done, you should have a 9.37kb tes.lvl file in:
data_TES\_LVL_PC\SOUND
and
Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\Addon\TES\data\_LVL_PC\SOUND
if you have the "Fixed and Improved munge files" installed correctly.

If you don't have a tes.lvl in either of those locations then something else is wrong.

the tes.lvl in the sound folder is 53.5kb i dont know what this means. currently im strarting a brand new test map and trying again. this will be the third time trying from scratch. ill let you know if it works this time.

they work this time around. and the file is 9.37kb. i think something must of corrupted in a munge or file i edited. but i still cant get it to work for my actual map. i followed the manual clean tutorial for it and re munged but still no sound for walkers and no sound for any imp vehicle. does this mean i have to start over?

As long as you have a 9.37kb tes.lvl file in Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\Addon\TES\data\_LVL_PC\SOUND, the only thing I can think of breaking the link to it would be a mistake in your LUA, make sure you edited it exactly as the instructions say.
