Porting Question (SWBF 2-->SWBF 1?)

How to create models in XSI and other 3D applications and make them work in Battlefront 1 & 2. Post models, tips for application usage and share anything XSI, 3DMax, SketchUp, etc.

Porting Question (SWBF 2-->SWBF 1?)

Well as the title says, can I port assets, models, props, from SWBF 2 to SWBF 1?
I don't want to do anything illegal :oops:
p.s. I was hoping to release the map, would not releasing it and just using it personally make it illegal?

You're not really porting it since they're the same file formats, but yes, it's fine. It's been done the reverse way plenty, look at the SWBF1 Pack.

It's perfectly fine, there are quite a few SWBF2 maps ported to SWBF1 on mpcgamers.com

If i recall though, SWBF1 and 2 have different .ter files, so unless you find a workaround to that, you can't port SWBF2 outdoors maps.

Ok, thanks all for the replys. I'm just trying to get some of the props to help fill out my maps since SWBF 1 assets is sortof lean on almost any thing like crates, buildings, walkways etc...
