Fred,
the client and the server map files are identical. But server will crash if the Sounds folder is in the Server custom map folder and the Server wont crash if its deleted.

the map works fine Offline, it works fine when hosted from ingame server . Only the Server software makes trouble.
So could it be that there is a bug in the server software?

Hey, what is the final verdict on this? Has someone come up with a solution other than deleting sound folders?

I believe that the sound folder isn't needed on the dedicated server as none of the sounds originate from there. They are packaged in the mod map file you have on your computer.

In fact, people might be able to create skelatal versions of their mpa for the dedicated server. However, if you have battlefront, there is a way to rig the server to use the games addon folder.

Hi Ace and Steve,

I need to get my map working on a dedicated server by midnight tonight. Can either of you guys help? I tried deleting the sound folder in the Data\_lvl_pc directory, but it is still crashing. I also tried renaming it, still crashed. I'll keep working on it, but please chime in if you have a solution.

On my oasis Duel map, after I made a new side of droids, it crashed when spawning. I found that the only units that can be in a side in MP is soldier class. Other than the sound folder deletion, no problems with MP.

Well I've tried deleting the sound folder, with no success. Any more ideas/suggestions out there, about why a map crashes in the dedicated server despite having the mapinfo.txt file set up correctly?
